The last couple times I drove the truck I noticed it seems as if it had a "flat spot" on the throttle I just thought it was because it was 106 degrees outside, anyways after a further investagation I realized the throttle cable has acess play in and I couodn't find and adjuster, also is this pretty common? thanks

you can actually feel it ,the pedal and when you move the linkage from the the engine compartment you can hear the slack all the way to the pedal! I thought it was bogging down at first but after a carefull inspection I noticed the play

Don't have my stock TB anymore, but the new BBK linkage has no play at all. Throttle plate shafts used to run thru brass bushings sleeves, but I don't know if these do. If they do, they may be worn out.

Not sure how easy it would be replace those bushings yourself, but I would think a Carb shop should be able to do it.
