OK, so I took the day off work today (called in sick) and was at the shop with the typhoon. We checked all the gaps on the new plugs and they were all 35. I next had them do a compression check while the plugs were out. I had one at 125 and the rest were all 140-150. All the injector pulses were correct. There was an issue with the vaccum line that went into my 3 bar map sensor being ripped. So we replaced that, but still didn't make a difference. Tried the ty with and without the alchol injection, no difference. We even put it up on four jack stands and drove up to 40mph in place, on a computer to see what is going on. The mechanic says it runs really rich and the O2s go to zero, what the hell does that mean? So I left there and went to MADPSIs house for some more fun. We took the Ultimate and the 3 bar out and replaced it with the 2 bar and stock chip, no change. We got out a timing light and checked all the plug wires, no real change yet.

So tomorrow we are going to change the spark plug wires and hopefully hook it up to Data Master. If any of the other AZ guys want to come over and put in your two cents, let me know. Everyone else, wish us luck and let me know if you have any other ideas.

Um, may be flogging a dead horse, but still haven't seen a conclusive test of the plug wires. A timing light won't do it. The plug will fire fine at idle, but not under load/boost.

Have you checked fuel pressure? Don't recall if you said you had a guage.

0v = rich????? What's wrong with this picture.....

I used to have a problem like this, it turned out that the heat shields on the exhaust manifolds were missing and kept frying the wires, even without contact, just from radiant heat. Made some shields from sheet metal and had no problems since. So Yes, its probably wires...

I put my Typhoon on jack stands to look for a wheel out of round. It ran really rich on the jackstands, so I think that is normal. I'm guessing the open throttle fueling is too rich in the 20-30 kpa range. You wouldn't operate in that range in normal driving, with the possible exception of deceleration.

As far as your problem goes, follow the advice others have listed: Check the plug wires, check the fuel pressure. Use a fuel pressure gauge you can watch while driving.

Good luck.

Fixed the problem. I don't know exactly what it was, but its fixed. We have had some issues with vacuum hoses popping off, that's what I get for putting the blow off valve on. So we re-secured those lines. MADPSI, Nick04011986 and I replaced the spark plug wires. And then Nick04011986 noticed a pretty ugly wire that was for my alarm that hooked into the coil. MADPSI soldered those wires. And now the ty runs like a champ.

I swear, every time I change my oil, I am going to change my fuel filter, spark plugs, wires, cap, and rotor. But hey, the typhoon is worth it.

Thanks for all the help guys.

I had Same problem

I had Same problem

I had kind of the same problem i bought All new my Ignition parts and come to find out all i had was Cracked #1 Spark Plug and a Spark plug wire that was worn down from my headers. start Cheap and do a Tune up with Plugs, Wires, Cap and Rotor. Make shure the check the gap on the plugs too. .035 is good.
