Replacing the O with a 0, the VIN came back as a 92 Typhoon. Last registered in PA. The only odometer reading was 06/22/1992 at 68 miles on the ticker. Nothing past that.

It's a Ghost.

These trucks are cursed
ryan sorry to hear about your unfortunate trip! lord knows i probably wouldve talked all the shit in the world to that guy! haha especially if i came out there with a friend, we wouldve definitely gotten some kind of compensation for coming out there.

not to make light of what happend, but i feel a lil better knowing i didnt go to idaho to look at this ty i was gonna buy before i got my sy. the truck looked damn nice in all the pics, the guy swore there was no rust, no problems, no accidents etc... but when i asked him to make a video of the truck and send it to me, he said "yeah sure, ill get it out to you this week". i never got the video and the guy never responded to my emails. damn shame too, cause i really wanted a ty!

but a month later i found an unmodded cali sy, with 40k on it for 12g's it was hard to pass it up.

I bought my Truck sight unseen via the one way round trip. They only thing I did different is that I asked and found someone to check out the Truck for me. The guy who looked at my truck really nitpicked. I was so nervous, buit I was pleasntly surprised to find the truck was in better shape than I expected. If you find a truck your serious about buying post the location, someone near by might be kind enough to look at it for you.

The best part about your story, Ryan, is that you didn't buy the truck and found these problems BEFORE it was too late. There are a handful of others who weren't so lucky and ended up with a pile of shit that no one knows what it is..

If you're an eBay kinda person, there is so many Typhoons on eBay right now that it must be some kind of record. Take a look..

Well if you're interested in still buying a Ty, theres one for sale here in Lynnwood, WA @ Kompact Kar Korner (KKK for an acronyme just does not seem right!) anyways they seem to deal in muscle cars and trucks, this would be the second Ty I've seen there and two Sy's.

Hey Ryan, kinda off topic here. But there is a guy from whitefish montana. His name is Mike, really nice guy. Met him last year when we picked up Deans sy. You might look him up, I don't think he is terribly far from you. Its always nice to meet up with local owners and trade stories/ideas.

He is a member of the BB, I think his handle is ty #3 or sumthin.

When i bought my Sy from Austin here in DFW area he removed the aftermarket amp and subs behind the seat, i did not see it until it was to late. And i tried to e-mail him about it several times but he never reply on my e-mail. Not really a big deal, it's just the principal to me b/c he showed me the truck with it in it and never sad anything about removing them. It makes him a dick in my eyes.

Thanks for posting that Ryan. After riding in my Sy, my cousin is looking for a Ty now. He was considering that one. We're on the western side of Michigan, so it's not as far as your trip, but still would've been a huge waste of time.

Ryan, you will find that one of the best things about this BB is that it can be a great way to avoid mistakes, whether that be buying a new truck, fixing your truck, or upgrading your truck. You are way ahead of the game by finding this site BEFORE you buy your truck.
And don't forget to tell everyone Aaron, that some ppl tell the truth, represent their truck for what it is,and good deals are actually made every now and then.( I sold him his beast )

That ty is posted in the classified in syty.org. I posted a warning there for people to read this post.

JUST CHECKED SYTY.ORG and his post is gone along with mine. That is good. I hope anybody that is thinking of buying a typhoon checks this web site before making a big mistake.

So your the guy from Montana. I was next in line to buy it. Terry(I'll use his first name) told me that the guy(you) from Montana called and delayed his flight from friday until saturday and then was a no show at the airport. I'm sorry to here about your terrible ordeal. Like you said earlier, the pics look great but up close is another story.

Yeah, I'm not sure what he meant by a no show at the airport, we had a pretty clear schedule a week before hand that it would be saturday instead, since he would be in Cleveland in Friday. Anyways, I am VERY glad you read this. Right after I said NO DEAL, he replied. Thats fine, I have a guy in NY waiting to pick it up if you don't.

Re reading what you said about the airport no show.

This guy is hell bent to screw anyone! I can't believe he would lie to you and make it look like I never went to buy it.

If he would have said you traveled 1800 miles and turned it down he would have had a tuff time getting anybody to talk to him about it wiathout being honest which it appears is not. Nobody would travel to go look at it knowing you turned it down after traveling that far. Talk about red flags
