Both are stock. Advertised quarter mile times are 13.3 for the 2008 SRT8 and 14.5 for my 93 Ty. What mods would I have to do to beat the SRT8 in the quarter mile?
Which SRT8 are we talking about?
Well I know many in the past have run 12.7 on just a ATR chip and alchy. Today I would say turbo tweak 3bar and some race gas pushing 17 to 20 psi On a forge wastegate. But will still be close and will depend on driver reflexes and launch. Most likely u will need 5 psi or 8 to have a chance. And I do know because I have SRT 8 as well Jeep that is.
I wouldn't run an outdated ATR chip. A good running Typhoon should run high 13's if running 100%.
I wouldn't modify my truck for the sole purpose of beating a particular person vehicle.
I didn't have any issue with the srt8 challenger I raced at the track

it would be close, nos would be cheapest route, really. if it was 1/8 mile I would say yes, but 1/4 he is gonna hawk you down unless he spins and you get out there far enough.
Definitely not NOS.....a second power adder....KA BOOM
Step one... Don't take beaner76s advice.
Step two... Race him now, find out how you do.
There is no way he will keep up with a boost launch unless he's got drag radials/slicks and a manual. You can hope he does a huge burnout and just lets out of it once you get out in front of him. If you guys go from a roll or go longer than a 1/4 mile he will probably come around you.
As far as cheap mods, race gas, 3barMAP, AFPR, and who ever is still burning chips, turbo tweak??? If and only if your truck is running good already with little to no knock.
