My name is Scott. Just wanted to tell you a little about my Ty. I've had it for a little while now and have been lurking around this site a little too. I bought it off Lansing Craigslist 2 years ago. It was listed as "good for parts" $1000. The guy selling it didn't know much about it but I was the first person get there. I was expecting a parts vehichle. The tires were sunk in the dirt on some butt ugly 18's with one blown out but it was solid, straight and complete. No rust, not wrecked, only missing a few original parts. Nice interior. I bought it on the spot!
Used a come a long to drag it on the trailer and took it home. Checked fluids, put in a batt. and turned the key. It built oil pressure and had spark cranking over but no fuel pressure. Electrical checked out ok. Dropped the tank and found a bad pump. Put in a used one from a Bravada I had parted out and it fired up. Nice and quiet, 40 psi oil pressure warm, no smoke. I let it sit for a year next to my other projects(Chevy and Mopar) that aren't done either This spring I sold the 18's on C.List for $100 and picked up some 'Vette rims and tires from C.List. Rears -315/35's on rims for $100 in my town and fronts 275/40'son rims in Detroit for $150. So for $1150 total I started driving it every day all this summer. Not bad hey!? I posted some ET info in another thread recently. I met Alex at Martin US131, that was pretty cool talking to him. Hoping to meet some more members too. I'm sure I'll be picking some brains soon in the tuning, engine and suspension sections
