Well it has been a some what not good past 7 months for me, any one that knows me knows Im always a happy and with a smile type person, thats who I am and will always be. Ok lets start off when it got shitty, I got into an accident which wasnt that big of a deal, but how and why it happend is what hurts me and always will. Lets put it this way, how it happened or why I dont even wish it to the worst SyTy person, cause nobody deserves what happened to me or any other person.

Ok so the truck is down, I ask SyTy peeps for parts, got a nope dont have or I want 2 arms a leg and a liver for it. Then I had people who couldnt cod it to the shop, but I would like to thank those that did cod it to me at the body shop which would be CHOPPO, JTTURBO6, and ATC82. Also decided to upgrade the suspension and bought a PST front end rebuild kit. Id like to thank those that did cod it to me and trusted me, If I can ever help any of you guys out please let me know. Out of what 2500+ members only 10 can come on and say something about, thanks alot guys.

Local help. Yeah right, only person that helped me was NORY, and he doesnt even own a SyTy. I know one other local (mike) who tried to help out but couldnt do anything cause he didnt have the parts I needed.

The truck, well my friend is taking care of it for me, even though they have taken a while, Im not mad at them or upset cause they are my friends and friends dont do that to each other. It is coming along nice with the rim being sent to a polisher to see what he could do, man what a job he did. We will replicate this on the other rims. Only thing I really need now is the door and tailgate decals, which I dont know If I may purchase them.
Here is a link for those that havent or want to see pics.

Etiquette
I have made a thread in the members project section to show you guys what was going on and some progress pics. You know Im shocked at how many people replied, 10 talked about the truck, and another 3 talked about a cameo I took pics of. When I see someone did something to there truck or post a pic I usually reply back saying nice job, thats just the type of person I am.

In the past 7 months I havent gone out, only probally 2-3 times since then. Ive only seen 1 Ty (mike) which was on the night I went out and a Syclone (champ7fl passed by my house so I can take a look at it). If any local SyTy people need help with a computer problem they are having or what not, please pm me so I can give you my info so I can take care of it for you, again thats who I am a more then willing to help anyone type of person, guess you can say a KNOW IT ALL 19 year old college student. Maybe soon we can ALL meet up together and hangout .

And Im done for now, some replys would be nice, positive or negative, I accept them all.

It is unfortunate you got a bad impression the past 7 months.

I would say from my point it is a misconception for most part.

I will say this group is a bit tight net, but once you get in, wonderful things can happen, people will help, etc. All seems to depend if they know you or not.

Being I travel fairly often, and make it a point to stop and see local syty people while I am there, I have made friends (more than just through computer) all over the US.

We want to see some pics of the completed truck though. :D

I don't think anyone could put it better than that about the BB... I have met cool people but have also met people that don't care if you have a Sy or Ty and have the if I don't know you attitude leave me alone. I for one am not going to ever drop tons of money in my Syclone because its not "that" damn important to me. Its paid for and was the day I got it and yes I like it alot but its just a toy, well to me anyways. For the most part I have had nothing but positive experiences coming here except for a crybaby that thinks an alien " 0X " is a cause for offense! (if i wanted to flip you off i would have done it) Most of you guys have it made in the sense that you have alot of SYTY'ers close around you that keep in touch alot and I envy that!!!

The accident wasnt nothing, just a bumper, fender, and the grill. Its how it happened that I dont want to write cause that person or persons might come on the board and read it. I just let things be and dont want to stir up a shit pot. Yes its that bad. If we do meet up in person, Id be more then glad to tell you the story, not on a public forum. Oh the story is so messed up its like for those that watch dave chapelle show with charlie murphy true hollywood stories, who could make that shit up.

Im ok, I now understand those with trucks that dont run or have it stored. I know it hurts :p

Just to comment on your post.

One thing I have notice about those parting out SyTy's, most of them post haven't been regulars on the SyTy forum. The SyTy parts are in demand, I parted one Sy out and 95% of the parts were gone in about 3 months or about as fast as I coul pull them off, box them up, and ship them while still working full time job.

As for poeple help. I know if I asked for help in my area, I might receieve very little help. Its not that other SyTy owner aren't helpful, its just very few around. I try to help when I can.

As for ettiquette. I think you have rubbed some the wrong way with your opinionated responses. Its not that you can't be opinionated, but sometime it helps to keep them to yourself or atleast tone them dowm. Some poeple think different ways and you may be insulting them. ie when you tell them a truck is junk because its been modified. I am pretty picky about my cars (and prefer 100% stock untouched cars to start with), but usually if I don't have something nice say I don't posted it, (unless ofcourse I feel like being cruel or I know someone well enough to joke with them)

I never said if your truck is modded its junk, just someone who is starting new shouldnt buy a modded car. Ok maybe some of my opinions have been strong, but hey we are all different, and thats a beautiful thing. We are all different and have different taste, guess some cant accept that fact. I actually like it when someone says they dont like this or they dont like that. Picky, im a picky eater so I tend to be like that with other things too, but with the Ty, no way these trucks were made to be driven, not placed in a museum.

Relax, I don't have any bad blood towards you, I am just giving you some constructive critism. IMO Sometime your opinion seems to come off as fact.

I dont hate no one, hate is an ugly word. I think sometimes should I post this to let people know, I mean I feel like posting up so much crap, stuff that would probally get me banned, but sometimes I cant help it and need to know why this is happening or that. Guess Im just a very curious person.

Ps I accept constructive critism. :D

just becuase people don't reply to your threads doesn't mean they haven't read it. No one replies to my threads usually...but they're for the most part "look at this picture".

This is the kinda thread you posted. Not everyone is going to physically type out there oogling. A lot of people see it as a wasted post. Yea, you do reply to a lot of threads, but 75% of your posts are probably "good job" and other simple one liners. Nothing wrong with it.....its just that a lot of members around here view this forum as a "if you have nothing useful to say, shut the hell up" kinda place.

So this is why you got a lowly 10 replies to your thread. Its not that people don't like to look at the pictures. Not all of us feel the need to pat everyone on the back everytime someone breaks or fixes something (which is every minute with these stupid trucks)

The thing that has bothered me about the SyTy Playland we all used to love is how freaking clique-like it has gotten.

At last years Nats - I had a member say something to me about hanging out with the cool group - or something of that nature. These people consisted of BG, Dubb, Jeff Scott, Jas' and a few others. Let's see...I live 20 minutes from BG. 25 minutes from Dubb. I see Jason & Heather-tool once a year - which is sad considering we live a few hours apart. They are people who I consider friends. I go to the Nats catch up with people I haven't seen since the previous Nationals.

I do my share of walking around - generally with my wife - and getting to know owners. Sadly, I'd rather talk about something besides SyTy BS. I'd rather spend my time helping a newbie at the Nats then hanging around with certain prima donnas. I'd rather hang out with someone else who brought their wife than someone who can't complete a sentence without the words "like umm or yeah" coming out of their mouth. For me my Typhoon is NOT the most important thing in my life. Racing is not my life. I don't drive 500 miles to race. I don't have the time to keep fixing my truck when it breaks. I'm not saying my way is right or wrong - it is just different.

Sorry if this is off-topic from what started but it sounded like the right time - speaking of unhelpful tight-knit groups.

Ok, I didnt make that thread so people would say something nice (I could care if it was nice or not) but to show those how and what goes on when someone paints there truck and to show those with rust on there truck whats needed to fix it. This truck had alot of rust, but it was all fixable. As far as the compliments, thats just common courtesy. If someone took the time to post pics or what not Im sure they would like some feedback on it.

My friend you have said what I wanted to say, I also dont live that far from a few WELL know syty people, one passed by the house and saw my truck sitting there hurting. I sent him a pm about going to a car show, said he was busy and said he also saw the truck. Dammm bro I live 3 minutes from where you work, pass by say hello or what not. Mi casa es su casa. No no, cant hang out or meet.

As far as your truck, I understand people have a life and family and what not, that I dont have a problem with. But, and this is a big but, this is what I love to do, this is what I spend my time on, for the past couple of months I have spent it all day there. Trying to do what I can to finish it. As a matter of fact I love syty's so much that I am the number one user of it, and you can go check it if you want. Id say for the past 1-1.5 years I have been on here more then anyone. Again I dont have a job or a family to feed or what not but this is what I enjoy spending my time on, and maybe not now but I know its not everything, actually all I really could care about is just being loved, but I know the 1094 loves me :p

If I wasn't a married, working, homeowner with no other hobbies - the Ty would be my first choice. ;) The Ty is my first choice as far as hobbies are concerned however it also tends to be the most time consuming.

I have enjoyed your thread immensely. I watch it daily for updates. Pics are a little large but hey...its cool.

My only suggesion to any newbie when they come on the board is to read and learn before talking. Luckily I picked up on this before asking a stupid question and getting flamed for it. Not everyone will ignore you. I am relatively new to the syty world. I was buying my Ty the weekend of last years nationals. I have had some tremendous help from the local guys.
Granted we bribed them with dinner and such, but they offered to come help when I was in trouble. Great guys. If you have one person who is not going to go out of his way, thats his perrogative, skip him and find someone else. These trucks are out there. Hell I even hang out with the local s10 clan (gasp gag) to talk trucks and see everyone rides.
Dont give up. Hang out, participate, be pleasant, and it will get easier over time. You shouldn't have to "pass inspection" but I sure some of the veterans who may have had these trucks since new have seen people come and go, so there may be some reluctance on their parts. I don't think its intentional.

most of you guys are more fortunate than me...i mean with local syty involvement and all...the most local sy or ty to me is at least 3 hours from here and i don't even know who they are or if they even exist...i'm on my own down here...i heard daron will be moving to San Antonio soon which is more central texas and at least 3 hrs from me...i'm the sole member of the STSTOC (south texas syclone typhoon "owner" club) that i know of...the only GN, SY or TY that i'm aware of in or anywhere around my city are in my garage...count your blessings...
