My NATS thoughts

Despite the minor battle damage sustained by a few attendees, I feel that NATS was a huge success and that a great time was had by all. I am surprised at the out of state turnout that we had. 29 trucks in total, the majority of which being from no where near Denver is amazing. I am secretly very happy that a portion of this board knows just how hard it is to go fast at this altitude (it's wasn't 20 minutes after registration that I heard the first "F* this altitude".) I know the cruise parking was a bust, but those who did head out had a good time.

Overall we had a great time, and I know a lot of you did too. A big thanks to TJ for putting this on, and to Shawn for hooking up the track day. I'm glad to have met a few new members, and to have met up with those of you I've met from previous NATS (oh yeah, and the local screwballs are always enjoyable to hang with  ).

Re: My NATS thoughts

I wasnt even there for five minutes before I said F this altitude lol. I'll hit the track near me in the next week or so and I'd bet I shave a second of the E.T.s on both the Sy and Ty with no changes on the truck from Friday.

I'm sure Roy, Matt, and Garnner will agree with me that it was worth the drive to go. Great people, nice trucks, and lots of fun. Thanks for everyone that was apart of it

Re: My NATS thoughts

We had a great time, even without the truck. Great weather, great location, great track, couldn't beat the hotel for the money. Hope it's closer to sea-level next time.

TJ did a great job. Thanks

Re: My NATS thoughts

I just got home, truck made it fine with the modifications I had to make on Friday. I enjoyed meeting everyone, shared a little bit of my insanity with complete strangers and most made me feel okay about screwing up tryin to have some fun, some didn't.

I want to thank TJ he did a great job organizing this event I feel it was a success, even though there was some battle damage, drank way too much. Thanks again to everyone who didn't make me feel to retarded about screwing up, I learned me and my truck really don't enjoy curbs. Had a blast hope to make it to many more.

6. I swear only 2 people made the connection between my screen name and the fact that my IDENTICAL TWIN BROTHER we there.

You guys can't be identical- he can hold his liquor!

Some things I learned:

There is always "that guy".

My only runs were in a go-kart (tried a boost launch but the attendant at Heritage Square shut me down with her "mom-voice") and the alpine slide (Rodney was so slow we should have taken his drag trophy away).

I can function without sleep, but not water.

A camp chair is your best friend.

My GPS always informed me where i needed to be AFTER I made the wrong turn. Most of my miles on the rental was WFO trying to get back on course.

Some beer needs to come further west.

Garrison is a secret SYTY moderator. A lesson that cost a few beers to learn.

The super-cruise was very cool, even if only for an hour.

SYTYers are very accommodating. Thanks for the rides, advice and fun and the award. That was a cool surprise!

7. Lol

I had the eviltwin thing figured out. I think I was the first to ask.

About nats... It sucked. TJ did a terrible job and Nadine was a jerk. Go ahead and use your red letter name and ban me TJ! Just kidding, don't ban me! :rotf:

Nats was fun. It was worth the trip and can't wait to do it again. TJ did a great job and Nadine was a very nice and my wife and I enjoyed meeting them and their little troublemakers! We met so many people and not one was a jerk, well maybe Harmon for winning my 4l80e shaft. All in all, the truck were awesome and the people even more so. Thanks TJ and and Nadine for a job well done.

Re: My NATS thoughts

Had fun with the short amount of time I was there. Thanks to Rodney and his father for picking me up at the hotel, and to others who shuttled me around to the event, such as Red Rocks and Heritage Square.

Hopefully someone found the goodie bag I left behind near TJ's tent with the Fat Tire beer :)

What is Rodney's dad's name? I don't remember what it was and he was one of the coolest dads there! Rodney was okay too. I think he has OCD or is on meth. His ty was way too clean. I was jealous.

Re: My NATS thoughts

Great time meeting you all and seeing a lot of owners I hadn't seen in a while. That weather was totally kick ass every day and I have the sun burn to prove it. I wanted to get a closer look at Rodney's truck, but I was afraid I might get it dirty.

Nats organizers all did an awesome job except every time I tried to get beer of of the catered keg lemonade is all that came out. Not sure what that was all about, because driving go carts with fellow sytyer's sober is over-rated.

I definitely was a witness to several WTF expressions of people racing on the mountain. Yes altitude makes a difference even on turbo cars. lol

Re: My NATS thoughts

HUGE thanks for everyone that came out to race and spectate especially for those of you who traveled a long ways! If it wasn’t for everyone that prepaid, there's no way the racing would have happened. I made sure Bandimere mentioned you guys for coming out. Thanks again to T Jay for pulling this off! The weather was a bit warm but at least we didn't run into any rain issues.

What? He had a name? :rotf: :rotf:

Everyone just called him RJ's Dad most of the time. Pretty hilarious. I'm digging the Bird Family Stripes. Someone needs to paint a Typhoon the color of the Impy SS with Argent cladding.
