Multiple VIN locations?

I know there was some talk a while back about the VINs possibally being located other places on the trucks than the standard dashbord location. Is this true? If so, where else can I find the VIN on a Sy? I am going Saturday to look at a Sy that was "revinned" (?!?) by the State of New York DVM, and was wondering how I could find the original VIN of the truck to prove its authenticity. To me, no SyTy VIN = a clone. This truck also has new front fenders and a new cab (original cab had "gull-wing" doors). The original Sy cab was the one that supposedly got "revinned".

Suggestions? Ideas?

Anyone in NY or anywhere really got info on this "revining" thing?

Thanx

try the glove box door, and or the frame..behind the rear wheels.

Merk,

Could you mail me with an exact location to look on the frame?? My stuff is up on jack stands (where it usually is) and now would be a good/easy time for me to look.

My addy is at the bottom...

TIA

Might be difficult or imposible to see with the bed on but on the top side of the frame/chassis
sandwiched between the bed and frame right above the rear right(passangerside)
wheel , probaly under 10 years of dirt too
you might be able to see it with a flashlight and a small telescopic mirror
something to clean the dirt off-
door jam sticker,

Glove box.
door jam sticker.

Is this all? I really want to all the places on my truck

If anyone has pictures taken on any of the hard to get to spots, please email them to me, ill put em on sytyarchives.

only downside to this, is if its readily availible, its easier for ass-pokers to modify them.
