Lowered Question???

ok....i have lowered my typhoon about 2.75 - 3.00 inches in the front and now the front cv shafts are at a pretty radical angle. i have been driving it and racing it and its not causing any problems right now. i am going to start building up the engine and i am worried that i will start have problems with the power that i will be adding. is there any way to fix this? shortening the shafts? does someone already make a shortened shaft? stronger shaft? any help would be great. thanks!

With a 3" drop the suspension is probably on the bump stops and the ball joints are binding. The noises you hear are probably the ball joints, not the CV axles. The stock suspension isn't intended to be that low, plus bumps often takes out the front cladding.

im not hearing any noises. i am no rookie here. there is no cladding. it is far from the bump stops. it is not binding the ball joints. there is no noise now. i was just wondering what other people have done when they lowered there sy/ty to correct the extreme angle of the cv shaft.

Either you have different bumps stop or you looking at the wrong ones. Stock ride height spec 28" (+/- 1/2") from the ground to the top of the cladding (obviosu hard to measure without cladding. At 1.5" to 2" down, every syty is basically on the stock bump stops.

Don't fool you self the ball joints aren't binding, the lowers bind through the normal motion of stock ride height.

everything in the front suspension is ok. it is not giving me any problems right now. im just worried that im gonna be breaking the cv shafts when i put more power down. i guess if no one has delt with this before then i will have to do more research with some dealers. i was just looking for a direction to go in. either stronger shafts or raise the front diff. or something.
