I turn the key to the on position. The pump primes up to 20 on my fuel pressure gage and instantly drops FP when the 2 sec prime stops. The truck has a walbro pump and accufab afpr. The truck was running for about 15 min in the driveway when it decided to sputter out and die. It started up with a rough idle then died again. Now it won't start at all. I changed the fuel filter and still won't run. Where to start would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

Dificult to reach, you can reach it better underneath, use a tool to clamp the return hose. Run pump and see what happens. If pressure holds (or at least way better than it was, hard to clamp it completely), it's probably not the pump or the hose from the pump in the tank. It will the FPR more than likely from what you describe.
All this just to be sure the trouble is in the tank, or at least on the supply side. Hate to remove the tank unnessaryly.
Unless you just bought some bad gas I would think it would at least idle with a bad filter. I think they have a relief in them anyway to bypass some fuel if the filter becomes completely clogged..

Yup, word on the street is the hose that came with a bunch of Walbro pumps ( like 6-8 years ago) was sent out with the wrong hose.
Same thing happened to Chris's 5,000 mile truck, we put a Walbro in it back in 2006, then we installed another one last winter before he sold it, turns out it was just the split hose, which was high on my list of assumptions to begin with.
That was apparently resolved and the correct hose has been going out for a while. :tup:

X3. The fuel line that connects the fuel pump to the sending unit needs to be spec SAE J30R10 since it can be IMMERSED in gasoline. SAE J30R9 which is for inline use is only meant to have gasoline on the *inside* NOT the outside. I imagine this is what yours looked like when you pulled it out:
