Products are pricey, but if you care about your shit then you should be willing to spend money on it.

Ive used nothing but Adams on my 2012 Camaro (bought it back in Oct 11) and it has absolutely no swirls and has a flawless glass look. It's daily driven, so it does see weather. Even dirty, it still has a clean look to it.

They have a huge product line for all types of detailing. Their customer support is awesome, and its made in the USA.

I use turtle wax ice. I use the polish first and the spray wax after that. I then use the spray wax after I wash everytime . It is simple and fast to use. I spray it on everything and not worry about getting it on anything I'm not supposed to. I only repolish, maybe a couple times a year.

thanks for all the suggestions.
I have made a list and given it to my coworker ( I'll probably be trying some of these too)
I'll try to get over to the show Sunday and take some pics to post here.

If cost is no object, they make a much more expensive wax:

^^ Nice, but that's not factory paint, right?

Factory colors but no not the factory paint. I'm not sure when the last time it was painted when I took those pictures but it wasn't recently as I have had the truck since 2010 and I know the previous owner did not have it painted so not sure when it was painted but it was a decent quality paint job when it was done. I just keep it maintained using the Zaino products. They work well for me.

Re: Looking for best wax to use on a black vehicle

Ended up getting the Turtle Wax Black Box kit over the weekend. If it's not as hot as an oven this weekend I'm going to give it a try. Hoping it'll bring my faded cladding back to black again. I'll post results when I'm done.

Gotta hand it to turtle wax for this one.

My typhoon is still far from show room, but damn if it doesn't look 10x better now.

Re: Looking for best wax to use on a black vehicle

So how many of these are for clay barred, buffed and polished trucks, and how many for slightly scuffed, slightly weather-beaten paint? To me the black box stuff looks more like a wax to cover up weather beaten paint (no offense). It looks great, but is it best for a cut, buffed and polished paint?

Basically, what's the prep to make these work?

Turtle Wax Black Box is nice. Its a two stage cleaner wax and Carnauba wax. Like someone mentioned it is black so it is good for black paint.

The turtle wax Ice is also great, I use it on my motorcycle. I like it because it doesn't leave residue like traditional wax.

I have that same wax and I have to take breaks when wiping it off on both stages. That stuff just does not want to come off. I even use a buffer to apply it on both stages.

I normally use Mothers FX, great stuff, comes off really easily with or without a buffer.

I also tried the Turtle Wax stuff on the hood, and it works great too. Im going to do the rest of the truck this weekend with it.
