Kinda funny message in my guestbook tonight.

He He...thought this was kinda *ssholish.
On my CarDomain page I cut and pasted the following info to put on my intro page:
"The GMC Syclone is a turbocharged, AWD pickup truck that has the distinction of being the quickest and fastest truck ever produced. They were manufactured by Production Automotive Services, Inc (PAS), who also did the '89 Turbo Trans Am. The Syclone has a 4.3L Vortec (Same motor as the Chevy) V-6 that pumps out 280 HP in stock form."

I just got a message in my guestbook from this tool who says:
"hey buddy, welcome to 2006. I dont know if you know this but the Dodge Ram SRT-10 actually has the record for fasest production truck on the planet. followed by the Ford Lightning. This thing might have been the fastest truck at some point, but ill bet its more like in 10th place now. So why dont you correct that mistake on your page."

Yes Sir!! How High!!

OK, I just looked it up and the SRT-10 is listed as 0-60 in 4.9 and the Lightning is listed at 5.2. I can understand top speed differences, since the SRT-10 will do 153mph, but how does that make the SyTy "like 10th place"?? Not to knock either of those trucks, I'd think about giving up a nut for either one, but c'mon....

Just thought that was kinda funny. :rotf:

Well you can always leave quickest on there as it still is the quickest production truck, but being limited to 128mph, it's hardly the fastest anymore. I would probably remove the "same as the Chevy" when refering to the engine as well since Chevy never turbo'd the 4.3 to produce the 280hp.

Yes, but the way it is written it implies that they are the fastest now.

Damn right!

If it were mine, I'd just say the quickest truck ever produced, or something similar.

I don't know why you are posting this instead of changing your Cardomain page immediately...

Re: Kinda funny message in my guestbook tonight.

The only record SyTy's hold now, is the Syclone is still the quickest.

The Typhoon is now beat in quickness by the SRT8 Jeep, and probably lost the top speed (fastest) record many years before.

The Syclone is still the quickest, but lost the top speed (fastest) record to the Lightning, then again to the SRT10 Ram.

Still not bad for trucks that are pushing 15 years old.

BS. The SRT-8 is slower to 60, and ran a 13.49 in the ¼ mile. Junior1's stock Ty ran quicker than that. Although I don't know of any other stock Tys that have run that quick.

I don't know, the SRT-8 Jeep seems like a pretty formidable competition to the Typhoon.

The TV advertisement I saw the other day was 0-60 in under 5 secs which in the Ball Park of what a stock Ty does. I don't know what the real track times are for them, but most Ty can hit high 13's, if this one is truely running mid 13's and running 5 sec 0-60, its seems to me that it will be keep up with the average Ty off the line and passing it on the top end. Very impressive, maybe the torch has been officially passed after 13 years.
