So after I spent 2 months getting this truck in tip top running order, my first night out I get worked by some rich kid with an 05 V6 mustang with some serious spray action. Im looking at this thing with a glowing blue gauge and monster tach on a V6 and im thinking what is this kid doing?... Ill just mess with him a little. It was around a turn so i couldnt take him off the line either but lets just say he caught me and past me in about 5 seconds =( I would have never thought that thing had nitrous. what gives? heh

what? how did you you he was spraying? That doesn't seem right at all, even if he was spraying.

Theres a guy here intown with a V6 mustang with as 200 shot. He takes down Z06's. I cant vouch but I have heard. I ran into him one night but he didnt seem to want any. Bottle musta been empty.

Im sorry but i just cant belive that...........v6 mustang and 200shot nitrous ...how about 1 bottle and a new engine on a stock motor no way the have forged pistons...STOCK internals are not strong enough! have to see it to belive ...sorry for the loss...

this was a brand new mustang. you could hear the nitrous come on and off in between shifts. sounds kinda like the air release for the brakes on a semi truck but its only for a second. we were going around a turn and i started to mess with him (cause i saw the monster tach) and when it straigtend out i couldnt catch back up with him and he was still pulling away good. my truck is stock with a 3 inch cat back, but it runs really strong. i was just amazed...it was kinda cool but this thing was going so fast it just looked like the motor was going to blow up at any moment. it sounded horrible

Who would have guessed a V-6 could be fast with some sort of external method of getting more oxygen into the motor...er....wait.....nevermind.

I wonder how well one of those new 6 banger stangs would respond to a small turbo and intercooler? the one that you raced sounds like it held its own.....you should take your truck to a track and see what it runs in the quarter to see what that mustang really had.....i'm curious now....

i guess the motor is pretty strong cause it was quicker then a new gt. these guys will prob have a kit for it soon... they have one for the marauder.

it would have been diffrent if we both had a light going straight. It was still quick. everyone around here has exaust and gauges and rims on any car. its rare that there is actually some thing under the hood so i was a little suprised..actually a lot suprised.. im sure he lives around here so ill get him next time.

The guy here where I live with 200 shot does have extensive motor work done. Im not sure exactly what, but he works with my friend who has a WS6 that raced him and lost. He told my friend hes a few grand into the motor itself and some other crap.

One of my good friends in highschool had a 2000 mustang V6 , 5 speed and GT rear end with a Paxon supercharger with air to air intercooler pumpin 11 psi into a ford lightning mas air flow sensor and enlarged throttle body, he dynoed at 345 hp to the wheels, his quickest run at infeneon raceway was a 13.4, not bad for a guy who is not an expert driver and spun the tires, (he also had a full saleen kit)

but like I always joke with him about , yeah you can beat a cobra but you have a $30k V6 mustang, under all the glitz it is stilla V6 mustang

Theres a chick in Orlando with a eaily 90's 4th gen Firebird. Has a turbo kit on it, I think she runs 12.4's..

Havent seen her at the track yet, but I've seen pics of the car and all. Its a good set up. And add she's hot.

My question is can these V-6 mustangs bottom end handle that kind of stress? I mean really did Ford look at the V-6 motor and say "man lets build a strong bottom end because alot of our customers will want to race our six cylinder" ? I really can't see it holding together for long. Knowing that thier V-8 GT was going to be the engine that would be the one customers would be hopping up.
Just my outlook.

Some of you may not know but the 05 V6 is a revised version of the 4.0L SOHC explorer motor, which is much better than the old 3.8. I'm sure it won't handle much spray since it doesnt have forged internals IIRC, but neither are sytys so who knows.

ya know if you're really careful with timing you can run a healthy amount of juice on a stock motor and if he's got it on a ramp up delay box it would probalby hold for a day or two

Sounds like a blow off valve. Perhaps he installed a turbo kit??

i know what a blow off valve sounds like and this wasnt it, but yea i guess anything is possible. it sounded more like 150 psi then 15 psi and only lasted for 1 second instead of maybe 2 or 3. but i guess you never know. you couldnt hear the turbo under power. i keep waiting to see him again. if i see him il ask him and maybe if he is cool he'll tell me what he's got. then ill get him at a light and see what happens.
