Re: Juice

Crazy Ivan has his JUICED and so does Phil Long....Phil ran 10.85 with a 35shot with a stock block!
But he had a t52/50lb inj/A2A and a 3500stall................and lots of tuning!!

Re: Juice

i just put a 50 shot on mine and under boost about 17 psi i did not even feel it . but i only did it 2 times .

Re: Juice

had it in the black ty. We sprayed meth and a 55 shot of nos(zex) the same time. The mats temps were incredibly low and the ic had frost on it. We felt it when we sprayed but i probably wouldn't install it again. These trucks are sensative already. Adding nos makes it even harder to tune even with zex's computer.

Re: Juice

you guys all seem to be doing the same build ups. but i want to be different. i'll find a way to do it and not destroy my short block have no fear. i just think it would help towards the top end'

Re: Juice

There is a reason why everyone does the same build - it's proven.

Nitrous has been tried by many people with lots of experience and they have decided against it.

You'd have much better luck running more boost.

But...you could do it and make liars of all of us.

Not everyone wants to reinvent the wheel especially on relatively slower truck. A lot has been experimented on the stock block, turbo's, heads, cam, tuning, N2O, alky, stall converter, injectors, etc. I have no idea what your goals are for performance, so obvious that play a factor. If you try to go t12 or even high 11's in Ty those aren't exactly revolutionary times and have been pretty well test with today current available technology. Anything faster than that has less testing (ie people who are running that fast) and no one has run faster than 10.7 in an AWD Ty yet.

Since you 'are new to the turbo world' and have already ask a few questions that could easily have researched threw search feature, it may be best to follow what other have done if those are you performance goals. However, its your truck, you can do what you want.

Re: Juice

well if 10.7 is the fast awd ty so far my goal is to top that. i'm not content with 12's or 11's. i've always pushed to be the best at what i do and will do no less than this.

Re: Juice

and all the questions i've asked are ones i've had trouble tracking down answers to in this forum. and some were just clarifications i needed. that and being different is just so kool

Consider swapping Intake manifolds OUT if you are serious, while its been done with the stock intake manifold, its a nitemare for fuel distribution..

Consider an intake that will allow more even airflow to the cylinders and I think the results will be quite different than previously experienced here...

I do believe Nolan is going to raise the bar for the AWD Ty's.

I too understand about being different. But think about what you're trying to achieve. Nitrous and more boost are essentially the same things. Pure boost with something like methanol is easier to control. The trucks are fragile to begin with. There are plenty of ways to be different, but there are proven ways NOT to be different. Nitrous is leaning to that realm. I too would like to do it, but I trust a lot of peoples' experiences here and decided against it. Not to mention, I just took the money that it would cost for a nitrous system and invested it in a bigger turbo.

But hey, if you want to try.......I also applaud you for it. There is nothing wrong with seeing things yourself. I think if you were to use nitrous, it would be done to offset the low end response of turbo lag, and then let the turbo take over, leaving the nitrous off at that point.

Nitrous when introduced into the combustion chamber breaks down to nitrogen and oxygen. So you're just simply introducing more air into the combustion chamber. Your turbo does the same thing. Why pay for something that you can achieve for free other than to offset when the turbo can't provide you with this result (turbo lag)?

Just some input. But good luck either way. I'll hopefully eventually be around the ET that your goals are currently at.

If you have the money to keep up with such a project and take the unnecessary risks, then i don't think its a bad idea.

Bu...bu...but...they do it in Fast and the Furious and run 9's :rotf: :rotf: . I say go for it dude. If it works out let everyone know exactly what you did, if not, have fun building a new motor. I agree with SeattleSy, if you got the money and time give her a whirl.
