Big mike stopped by and i had all the vacum lines all screwed up as usual. Anyway we rerouted them and started her up and got the timing correct! What really sucks is this whole mess could have been avioded if i had just checked the little 30amp fuse that runs the fans and the water pump....:squint: (idiot)

Hey, don't kick yourself over that. It took me 4 months to figure out mine was the ignition switch that kept mine down for so long...:squint: I've learned that there definitely is a learning curve with these trucks, and I always refer to the boards here if I have a question. I can't thank the members enough that have given me their knowledge and input to allow me to figure things out. Congrats on getting yours back up and running!

Re: It Lives!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats.. So what was the final determination? A fuse blew and the fans wouldn't kick on thus causing it to overheat? Did the heads or anything warp or did you basically just put it back together?

Re: It Lives!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You may want to pull down your pillar gauge pod to see if your hose is still connected to your gauge, re attach and wire tie it if it is not, is it reading vacuum? Also I would remove the silicone hose you have going to your gauge and replace it with a new line either braided, copper or nylon line with the correct fittings. Did you check for cuts in that hose where it goes though the firewall? Did you tighten those bolts on your turbo flange yet? Scroll down page and watch video http://boostvalve.com/ Your Waste gate arm needs to be adjusted/checked after you get the bolts tight with it loose like the way it is your wg puck will never close.

Geez Mike, way to rattle off the homework. Sounds like your getting close on this truck though.

That video as simple as it was , was a great vid. I got the same boost controller too. SO with the flange bolts loose the waste gate wont shut and i just wont be boosting very much? The gauge is just reading vacum. When i got on it a little it the gauge would read as low as 7ish on the vacum side but never wnet to the boost side.

Re: It Lives!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know if it's just the way it reads, but it sounds to me like you have your electric fans and water pump on the same 30A circuit?

This is a bad idea. I would separate the fans and the water pump at the least, and depending on the fans run a heavier circuit for just those.

Otherwise, you're asking for a repeat...
