Depends on what yr.

I had a '99 ran 13.40 & 106.6 bone stock on the stock tires.

A "stock" SY wouldn't do that especially that MPH,without changing something tweaking here and there.

The SY is a bad little truck don't get me wrong but these C-5 Vettes ('99-'02 have more hp) ROCK!

YES but 97-98 are slower,only 325 hp.

I should also point out that MOST Vettes you'd run across on the street are driven by GEEKS that no nothing about cars or how to drive let alone change their own oil.

With that being said majority of the Vettes a SY runs across they probably will beat them.

I raced a "96 Indy" corvette, well that’s what her license plates said, and I killed her, she couldn’t drive it, be she challenged me.

IMO if we are talking street racing most RWD cars need to be at least a second faster to have a chance in a marked 1/4 mile street race due to the SY's traction

0-60 is where a Syclone shines. I am pretty sure a stock Syclone beat any normal stock C5 0-60, and would even give your z06 a race to 60. After that or on a roll the C5 should beat a Syclone.

I think it would only give the Z06 a race until 40...the Z06 would be by the SyTy before it was out of second gear.

The 97 - 98 Vettes had 345hp vs the newest ones at 350hp. The Z06 started with 385hp and now has 405hp. My 2002 has that number right on the fender.

Ok, own a c4 Z07; Sy will run away and hide from it. Raced a prepro zo6(with a GM exec driving) wiped his ass and he stayed way back behind from then on. Ran a black c5 '98, I handed him his ass also. Have not lucked upon a '02 z06 yet but when you live in Vette city it's just a matter of time.

Sorry, but you are wrong. The 97 Dealer Brochure, 97 Press Kit, 98 Dealer Brochure, 98 Press Kit, and my corvette Black book all say 345hp. The later 99/00 seem to be stronger due small changes over the year but the advertise hp is still 345hp.

I have no-problem with admitting when i'm wrong.

My friend who works at the plant "Lloyd" just e-mailed me and told me i was wrong....'97 &'98 was 345hp.

Funny thing is i had know idea he reads this BB.I can't quit kiggling.

I was wrong.

Don't remember where i got 325hp but for some reason i was sure of it.

Now i know.

I still say the C-5 is a awsome car and i hope to have another new one in a couple of yrs.

just a side note on the ls1. all ls1's weather it be a vette, camaro or trans am put out the same hp. there is absolutly no differance between the engine in a c5 and the engine in your run of the mill z28. some tweaks where made in 99 such as smaller injectors which made the engine run leaner creating a few extra ponies. in 01 they changed over to the z06 manifold and gave the ls1 a more aggressive cam. 97-00 c5 and camaro's dyno between 280-300 rwhp while 00-01 dyno between 290-310 rwhp for the most part.

Yup, that is right on. I have seen a lot of my buddies dyno their cars. The LS1 Fbodies are actually putting a little more power to the rear wheels than the Corvettes. Must be a little more parasitic loss in that torque tube application. I have probably witnessed more than two dozen LS1 fbodies dyno and they range from 290 RWHP to 310 RWHP. Even the auto equipped vehicles put down around 300 to the rear wheels. That is pretty stout. Those motors pull very hard. If you have ever seen the intake ports on them, you would know why. They are huge. Probably 25% larger than the conventional small block chevy. With all that power, it is really hard to put the power on the ground on the street. It takes a little finesse.
