I was installing the ultimate chip yesterday and noticed that my passengers side floor mat was completely wet in coolant  I remove it and I noticed the coolant had reached the almost the entire passengers side! I had to remove the pass seat so I could keep cleaning  It was a complete mess... I dont understand what happened since I had disabled the heater core a long time ago... do I have to remove it even if I disable it?

thnx

i discovered the same thing when i rebuilt my ty....the insulation in our carpet sucks up coolant, or any liquid for that matter, like a wick in an oil lamp...i removed the carpet and draped it over two carpenter's horse things (upside down), and let gravity do the rest....the carpet leaked coolant for 4 days...it takes time to get the majority of it out...i guess in a sy, the carpet wouldn't be as expensive to replace as a ty...as for your heater core, it probably held coolant in the lower portion after you deleted it...my guess as to how to empty it, if you don't want to replace it, would be to use compressed air to get it out and hope for the best....but it's a very cheap and easy job to replace the core...good luck
