Ok, it really depends on your springs. Go to the track or get one of those in-car meters that tells you what your doing and cut some 60' times. see what works best for your truck. Everybody's driving habits/truck are different. Find what works best for you.Star in the middle and adjust from there.

Is + more hard or more soft?

these are the rubber bumpers that i used, then lopped 1/2 of them off. they are a lakewood traction bar replacement bumper, from summit, or jegs.

OK, first I know about the "off topic" since I don't own a Sy/ty. I'm entering here to tell about the help this mod. made to my lowered '02 Crewcab. I went with decranking my front TBs first to get the stance. Then Jagsthatrun setback plates, 3" blocks and two 4 degree shim plates, one was not enough pinion correction. Still bottomed out in the rear at speed on sharp bumps. I went with 1 1/2" tall poly bump stops at both ends of my overloads and " WALLA " problem solved. Major improvement in cornering stability and no more bottoming. It also seams to have helped the front end also with better control " ? ". It is a little firmer ride but not quite a dump truck ride. I've always prefered being a little stiff any way. I do think I will go to coilovers in the front.

Anybody use those rubber bump stops on their stock leafs? I bought the Summit Racing leaf springs and they are way too soft for me. Thinking about putting the stock leafs on and putting those bushings in if it makes the rear end quite a bit stiffer.

What I did was, bought 4 '90 full size 1/2 ton rear bump stops. Cut them down to 1 1/2" tall. Broke down my stock leaf springs to separate the over loads. Drilled BOTH ends 1 1/4" in from the ends,centered and bolted the stops in. After getting it all back together, the first test drive completely sold me. I'm setting on setback plates, 3" blocks, and 8 degrees of pinion angle. So, I'm pretty low, 27" to top of wheel wells front and rear. Front is simply cranked down Torsion bars. I was real floaty before the overload Mod. but, is amazingly stable now. I may still go to coilovers in front but I'm going to ride out for a while. All this is done to my '02 S-10 Crew cab, 4x4, 4.3, automatic, on 8.5 x 16 '88 corvette wheels. Soon to be wrapped in Nexen CP 641's, 245/5016r.Oh yeah! the mod. made the whole suspension way stiffer but not rigid, nice ride over rough spots and bumps.

I have the Summit Racing leafs with AFCO 2" drop blocks, I'm gonna try their 1" drop blocks and see how that goes. If I'm still not happy, I'll do this. I'll install the bump stops anyways, just not liking the idea of swapping the leafs out again. My 3" exhaust is really tight in the rear and makes shock removal a pita.
