how to get a 20g to spool

what do i need to do i just installed a 20g 14cm turbo upgrade and i dont have much power just driving around like stock i really have to get on it to make it go but when it kicks it has mad balls is there anything i can do to help this out ?

Not to be funny, but if you moved to a city that is sea level your spool up time will be reduced.

I live in Reno and I noticed the turbo lags quite a bit more up here than in the SF Bay Area.

Seriously. I would remove exhaust restrictions as a first measure. Make sure your wastegate is healthy.

im running open exhaust no muffler or cat and the wastegate is brand new came on the turbo and i know the altitude up here sucks

20g 14cm turbo probably needs a higher stall speed Torque Converter in your tranny.. sorry.

so a higher stall like a 3,000 stall that would give the power back like on a stock turbo but would be way faster cause of a better tranny and turbo ?

was just looking online will a 2400 stall work with a 20g 14cm atr has one for 400 bucks

run at least 3000 stall - more is better in this case
its a slow spooler - i just did one myself not long ago
i run a 10" ati converter - real pleased with it - they hit the stall dead on per my request.
not super expensive, either.
anyway, it still won't hit instantly like the stocker, but it'll make a helluva diff
