How much does it cost to get upper intake powdercoated? Going for quote ---

I just found a local shop a few minutes up the road that does powdercoating.

They said they can match the factory gray, leave the machined top ... and fill in the letters with whatever color I want.

I am heading up there Monday or Tuesday for a quote, and to maybe drop it off.

How much have you guys paid for similar work?

Just wanted to go in there with a price in my head so I don't get ripped off ... thanks ---

I'd WAG $70-100.

I just got an estimate email after sending him pics and dimensions.

They said somewhere around $140 ... I know filling in the letters will take some time , and the charge for multiple colors is there too ---

Thanks for the confirmation 518 ... sounds like a plan.

I was going to paint it , but I have seen from previous experience how long engine enamel lasts , lol ... 2-3 years and it starts aging.

I think powdercoating is the way to go for sure ---

Ive had a lot of powder coating done on my bikes and snowmobiles. Its extremely strong when the parts are prepared properly

From what my powdercoater said, taping off lines for multiple colors doesn't always turn out as crisp or defined as paint would, so he recommended against me doing it. So I'm having mine powdercoated, then paint the letters in when its out for paint. I paid $625 to have upper and lower control arms, spindles, leaf springs, gas tank, 4 calipers, rear bumper reinforcement and over 30 misc brackets powdercoated. Some black, some gray, and some a dark red color.

I actually asked him if I should just plan on painting in the letters by hand , and he thinks he can do it with the Powdercoating.

I will ask about it not being very crisp and see what he replies with.

Yeah it was $140.

They are actually about 10 minutes up the road from me , a local shop.

For years I wanted to get this done , but didn't find a shop to ship it out to ... just ran into this shop on Facebook when some local buddies "liked" the page. ---
