How Much Boost before BOOM ?

Stupid question but here goes.

Based on my build below, and assuming I am running a safe A/F ratio using WB and 100% Meth, what would be the consensus as to how much boost I could run without blowing the thing apart. I may drive it once or twice a week just around town, it is not my daily driver.

ha!! i run 24 lbs on a stock longblock, and have seen 27 lbs when i didnt care......damn thing wont die!!!!!

29-30 psi

Any higher and the block will start to split cylinder walls. This also assumes that the tune is spot on and you watch for knock like a hawk!!!!

Your bottom end should be able to support whatever that turbo can pump out (hp wise), however one hickup at 30psi, and its tough for the ecu to act fast enough to save a head gasket or piston. The more boost you want to run the more anal you have to be about always replacing your filter elements on your fuel pump, alky kit and just overall maintenance of your truck.

Well I was curious because I am thinking my wastegate is blowing open and I was going to try to take the hose off the actuator but didnt know how much boost it would throw out. I suspect about 25 max? I am pretty well tuned with the meth on a spike to 25 but it quickly fades to 16-17 if I am WOT. IF I lean into it slowly, I can sometimes get it to hold 21-22 but soon as I go WOT, it drops off. I thought the bottom should be fine for that level with the meth and pretty much no KR.

I have the AEM boost controller on it but at max duty cycle, it does the same thing. IF I turn it down, all it does is take away the initial spike.

My other thought was to try to run a MBC in parallel with the AEM controller to bleed off some more air but that wont do anything if the exhaust is pushing my WG open.

Just a thought.
