I tried my ty out in the snow today. It didn't do too bad for a lowerider on street tires. :)

I've used a Syclone or Typhoon as a daily driver since 1995.

Snow is no issue:

notice the rust mark in the snow from where the frame made contact :)

I bought mine 4 years ago for a DD. However, where I live has a Park-&-Ride facility, so I drive 5 miles round trip to catch the bus to go down town.

Truck just turned 75,500 miles on the odometer.

My truck has been just as dependable as any other 10 to 14 year old car or truck that I have owned. Just that this truck is much more fun to drive.

Ya gotta love these trucks!

I would be worried sick all day wondering if my truck would be there when i got back. You should see some of the freaks who check out my Ty after i park it. It makes my anxiety levels go through the roof. Sometimes i wonder if i should go out and buy another vehicle for my DD. After hearing what the cladding costs alone, makes me wanna cover it up, and drive it only on them nice days. Then again, thats what insurance is for. Except they will not reimburse ya for mods etc.. and of course, will give you only about 1/2 of the real value. Sigh... :(

Seems like if you DD your Sy/Ty, it puts up a good fight against the road and elements. Must be because you become more inclined to keep it running than let it sit for so long...
They're just like any other car, I guess, neglect it long enough and it won't want to perform...
Hoping my Ty does well during its future years of service as a DD...

Maybe it is my routine but I don’t seem to have problems parking my truck in the Park-N-Ride lot. Might be because I get there earlier enough to park near the front and the cameras. Maybe because most of the folks that ride the P-N-R don’t know what a Typhoon is. Maybe because I have one hell of an alarm on it.

In the 4 years that I have been parking there, I’ve had no problems.

:stupid: If you're relying on it to get you to work or school everyday, then it becomes a necessity to keep it looking good and in good running order. If it's not needed then it just gets put on the back burner and one of those things you'll get to some day. :squint:
