Higher compression forged pistons?

My engine requires new rods so I am planning on getting Eagles. I was going to order SRP L2256 forged pistons but these are a press fit and the Eagles only accommodate the floating bushing style so the 2256s are out.

I wanted to keep compression up at around 9.5 but am struggling to find pistons that are suitable. The bore is 4.030.

Does anyone have any sources or recommendations for pistons? Alternatively, are there other rods, forged or otherwise that would work with the 2256 pistons? Eagle make SIR rods but I don't want to have to machine each of them.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Higher compression forged pistons?

I just found that there is a variant of the 2256s that have a floating pin and therefore would match the Eagles. I'm going to check into it.

ZLW2256F30 is the p/n if anyone had this issue going forward. (Summit part number)

Yeah, I think that's what I can use. The flip side to this - are there rods out there that I can use on this motor and use the 2256s that are in the kit? Stock 4.3 rods instead of the Eagles?

Re: Higher compression forged pistons?

you might have to machine your bore anyway, depending on the pecs of the pistons. it's not as simple as bore them all out at 0030 and call it a day.

Re: Higher compression forged pistons?

They are boring the block then honing to match the pistons. The crank is getting .010 on all bearing surfaces. I think they are line boring as well...

i didn't know you could hone to a certain size, but i geuss you learn something new everyday.
