High Idle, just started today!

I just cleaned my IAC and my throttle body. I tried my best not to bump the pintle but I probrably did. No problem right, just reset the IAC. Well, it stil idles at 2000. Am I resetting it right? I ve seen a couple of different posts and went with the easiest one.
I turn the key to the on position, jumper pin A and B on the ALDL, wait 30 seconds, turn the key off, remove the jumper, pull the ecm and ecmb fuses, wait 30 more seconds, replace them and start. It still idles at 2000. Did I do something wrong or did the IAC take an a CRAP?

Are you showing any codes? Its possible you could have bent the shaft on the IAC. When I put in mine I just threw it in and drove. I think thats how you reset it, something like that. Is the throttle position sensor pluged in? recheck for any vac leaks.

Sorry to ask, really, but did you plug the harness back in? Mine did the same thing, idled at some outrageous RPM then finally settled down. Course now it wants to die occasionally but I think that's a different issue. Also check that short hose to nowhere, might have cracked it.

It cleared up!! I messed with the IAC plug a little bit so I think I may not have completely connected it. Truck still runs the same though. I have a constant miss and a rough idle. I have replaced plugs , wires, coil, distributor, vacuum lines, map sensor, fuel pump, fuel filter, checked timing, checked the dampener for slippage, replaced all grounds except the drivers side one in the back, replaced the O2. It's time for datamaster because I am out of ideas.

do a compression check and cylinder leakdown on each cylinder. also does your syty make any bubbling coolant sounds after you shut your truck off?
