Hi SyTy world! :D

New member here after a bit of insight into your trucks and experience - I'm looking to source & import a '93 Ty into the UK -

few questions for you guys:

Sales to Export? - Anyone sold their truck abroad? was it simple? I'm guessing around $1000 to ship to the UK (plus all my nasty local taxes :( )from coastal ports - more from inland.

Abused or Used? - I drive a TVR in the UK - they are Rare, notoriously unreliable (through reputation to the layman...mine has never let me down in a year and a half), costly to maintain -
So i think I know what I am getting into!!
Whats the score with SyTy general use? I guess the life of the engine will depend entirely on the type of use - when buying my TVR i was very careful as used performance cars of a certain age tend to have been thrashed for a good portion of their lives....is there any way i can get some form of impartial opionion on any truck that I am considering buying?

Parts - other than the pain of shipping them to the UK I guess the majority of non drivetrain parts are readily available?

Running Costs - I budget £2000 (around $3600) maintainance per year for my weekend car - is this realistic for a Ty? any other owners in foreign climes - how are your running costs?
I get my hands dirty for small stuff but leave engine/gearbox work to the professionals.

P.S. - I tried the searches but could find sweet FA on UK based SyTys!!

Thanks all,

Tim

MattGE is looking to sell a Typhoon in Italy. Though...check on uk.mobil.de and see what's out there.

Yes, these trucks are costly to maintain. Even more so in Europe and alot more on your little Island you have up North.

If you have a truck in your sights...let me know. If it's not to outraegously hard to get to I'll meet you out there and look with you.

Are there a few of you guys over here in europe?

I love the tail of ukty's post in the overseas forum:

'with gas at $6.50, my ty's a toy'!
