Heavy Duty Trans Case

I needed a case because of a damaged one, went to a local tranny core place, and he gave me a 700r4 that has a total of 6 bolts that hold the TC cover in place. My origingal only has 4 bolts. Just wanted to know if anyone has heard of this and if the cases are indeed swappable?? Thanks guys.

I found some of my answer, and alot of good info here. But still need to know if it will work bolted to our trucks??

any old 700 case will work as long as it's 88 and up. the older ones are different. a 2wd will work but you will have to cut the ears off of the sides. I wouldnt worry about the bolts for the tc cover as I never put those back on it helps with cooling.
