Re: heater core solution

i just changed mine in about thirty minutes, nothing too bad, but my interioor is out right now too. i bought the only heater core listed for a 93 blazer w/ or w/o air and it had the short ends for the hoses. they don't stick past my heater box.

Drop ECM and double check conections. Does the fuel pump run for 2 secs with key on? Pull coil wire from cap, insert a spark plug, ground plug and crank. Do you have spark? Prolly something simple, go back and check everything you touched.

You were right. there was no need to panic. I went back and checked my work, sure enough I had'nt paid attention to the details. Cleaned up my mistake and all is fine, runs like a champ. Thanx for the help. See ya.

Re: heater core solution

Out of curiosity is the GM Heater Core Part number #1563330 for non A/C trucks?

I just received this and can confirm the heater tube is only a few inches. I think this is the wrong one for the stock setup. Don't wanna waste time tearing things down if its the wrong one.

Can anyone confirm?

I *think* that it is. The inlet and outlet lines on that core are very short which is correct for a non AC truck since the blower motor housing is much deeper on an AC truck. The lines have to be much longer to get out from under it to connect the lines. You can see how much of a difference there is in the blowers themselves:

"AC vs. NON AC blower motor comparison. AC fan is 3.5625" deep and NON AC is 2.750" deep."

I replaced mine before I deleted the AC on my truck, you can see the length difference in my thread here.

The heater core that you want from the General is #3050142 That part number and MANY others can be found here.
