http://www.syty.net/forums/showpost.php?p=710694&postcount=4

What do you get:
  • The radiator core: about 21 1/2" x 8"x 3" all aluminium bar and plate design, as pictured
  • two 3/4" hose connections
  • NOT AVAILABLE ANYMORE: 3/8" connection hole for aftermarket levelsensor (sensor not included ) because of, the OEM factory non functioning level indicator on the dash, the level sensor hole can be ignored and plugged. For the people who have made an functioning level indicator, they have to replace it with a 3/8"sensor for their purpose

[*]A how to install guidelines with pics, send to you by mail.

INSTALLATION PICS:

A/W intercooler in stock lower bracket.
Altering the bracket and so on will take about 4 hours, when you are not prepped (well I did, just started without any knowledge),
so it is possible when you have al your tools ready to do this in about 1.5H.

what tools are needed:
medium screw driver for the hose clambs and IC pump.
philips screw driver for unscrewing the CAC frame parts.
Bucket for the coolant
wrenches to (un)bold the CAC frame
some sort of cutting tool, a grinder would be the best option.
drill for just 4 holes of 6mm
cutting plyer for just cutting the ty bands on the hoses
4 bolts M5x12mm and 4x M5 nuts (use loctite or locknuts)

NEW AND OLD

NEW AND OLD
IMG_0923.jpg

WHAT TO ALTER ON THE CAC BRACKET IS:
cut away the edge at the bottom of the CAC frame
drill 4 new fixing holes to bold the frames together again.
IMG_0962.jpg

ALTERED CAC FRAME FINISHED
the flaps on the right and left cut away to fit in the new radiator so it doesn't obstruct the airflow.

FIT FIRST BEFORE YOU GONNA REPAINT THE CAC FRAME

Looks like a nice piece
Would there be any sense to just welding the frame mounting brackets to the CAC itself and doing away with the factory frame? Could probably even weld an aluminum shroud around it to duplicate the factory baffles.....
I'm really thinking about this... love the thought of even lower IAT's!

Dono,
dunno.gif
mine leaked, thats why I made this setup, and because of a rebuild I can't drive and measure it.
What I do know that this new one has much more water capacity and to cool everything down.

JPALMER also asked this almost same question.
I chose this setup because of the minor work I had to spent so it can be less expensive.

About welding the steel frame brackets to te aluminium core , mmmmm
icon_rolleyes.gif
I never heard of
icon_eek.gif
.

Your right about welding a aluminium bracket to the CAC itself and then doing away the factory shroud.

BUT

Then there are mountingbrackets an airscoop and a pump bracket to be made.
drawings must be made, bending and welding more materials on the CAC which involves more work to the CAC which make it a lot more expensive.
And it doesn't make sense that it will cool more with this same core in your setup.

Another setup I explained to JPALMER was as yours with the mountingbrackets, pump bracket, all welded to a even bigger CORE.
Then the core can be about 23.5"long x 4" x 10"-11"

(maybe some adjustable brackets so its possible alter the angle of your CAC would be a nice though.)

Then you have enormes cooling power in your lower CAC
but is doesn't help with the stock upper ICC.
Only in combination with a larger (WALLER) upper IC this also will cool your IAT a lot more.

Maybe, I also need to make a UPGRADE for the UPPER A/W IC, what do you guys think
idea.gif

or someone else can????

And thanks for your complement

I just meant welding new aluminum brackets to your Core.. not trying to weld steel to aluminum - that would take a magician not a welder! :D

Re: GP upgraded lower IC radiator will end soon

Added final shipping costs for you all on the waiting list.
If someone thinks that shipping costs are not what you thought it would be, or think that is

, let me know, maybe I made a mistake.

Because I opt that, from about 1 month after the beginning of this threat manufactering must begin, this GP will end soon after everyone has payed for their radiator.
I can't let you people wait and wait, can I ?

Payment:
I've send to everyone on the list a PM with the grand total

After payment production of the CAC's begin
