Got false notification of PMs

Just a few minutes ago I received notification of 2 new PMs in my email.
When I logged in, they were old messages from several days ago that I had already read. Is this one of those things that happens occasionally or is it more serious (like someone trying to falsely send PMs under someone elses name?)

Did you ever get the notice before you originally checked them, or just stumble across them as you surfed the board??

It is possible the mail just lagged in the system.
If you suspect otherwise change your password.
Kind of doubt it was the latter.

Yeah. I actually received notification several days ago. Then I actually logged in and checked them several days ago. Then this morning I received notification of two new PMs. Logged in and it was the same two.
Weird. After several of my posts were deleted or "disconnected" from topics several months ago(long before the revamp), I guess I'm just more aware of those that enjoy hacking into systems for whatever reason.

Changing the password is a good idea.

I have also got notification new PMs in my mail before and they where old Pms. This happend to me months ago. I have not had a problem since.

Well, think I figured out where it came from.
The notification was legitimate. Biggtime had responded to a PM i'd sent him. I got email notification but when I logged in nothing was there.
When Biggtime logged in, his reply to me was also gone.
Hopefully just another glitch. :-?
