I think we are the only two here that actually like it.. I've heard that its a breeze to throw a v8 into these things.. They are already AWD.. So V8, AWD, add a turbo in the mix.. Ultimate sleeper, can haul the whole family around, and it looks cool.

i guess it depends on how many kids you have, and how many your GOING to have.:rotf:

i have 2 already, and 3 or more is not out of the question;)

so with a whole troop of sy/ty/sogt little people, this becomes a viable option.:roll:

did anyone see the pinks that had the astro van pushin 1100 hp with nitrous...it moved for a van

I think it looks great, but I would just put a LS-1 in it. You don't have to work on them, just jump in and turn the key.

I've benn wanting to build one of those fore years now, using the same name and everything! The only thing i would have different is the rear window, I think if GM actually built it, they would use the Safari GT as a base (that is, if it was available in those years)

I like the idea myself, power train swaps into these vans have been done. (afterall it's where they looted the T-case and some front axle bits from) They are significantly bigger than a Typhoon but at the same time if they were set up right would possibly be lighter even in AWD turbo trim. That being said, these vans may get maligned by some but have an incredibly strong cult following. To say that there is virtually no limits to the capabilities they have in regards to show, go and off roading capabilities is an under statement. They have had many GM motors stuffed in them by enterprising individuals from SBCs, BBCs, LS1s, Turbo Buicks and even Olds based engines. There was only one vehicle ever produced that is near replicating what they are and can do, that's the Ford Aerostar. Great pic, I love the cladding work; most of the stuff produced for these vans is too "loud" in my opinion. I've got a 305 TPI engine with some work mine will be seeing, and hope to be huffing some boost down its gullet in a year or two. 9 inch is stuffed under it, and the 700R4 is built by me to (hopefully) at least last behind the engine N/A. What after that? We'll see.

LOL at ASTRORENZ.

I thought these weighed more, but just checked ... and they are 3800lbs, and have a 4.3!!!

Nice artwork, but I also think they would have spoiled the image if they came out with those ... guess its not too far off from a TrailBlazer SS ( family wagon ) ---
