Gilbert Shaft Specs

I have searched with no luck, and I don't wish to take away from any of our vendors, but I am exploring the idea of having something similar built here in Australia.

So here is what I need...

What is the length from centre to centre?
What is the actual diameter of the tubing?
What size/part number U-joints are used (1310, 1320, or 1350)?
Part number/size of yoke required?
Has anyone every had success with mixed U-joints (1 joint with both 1310 and 1350 ends)?
Oh yeah, and any reason a custom alloy shaft would not work?

This should get me started, but I would also apreciate any of your thoughts, hints, tips etc.

Sorry for so many questions, but I figured it would be better all in one place.

Thank you in advance...

Re: Gilbert Shaft Specs

Well, if you really want to reverse engineer it, why not buy one from a vendor and then you can use it if your prototype doesn't fly? :D

Sorry that doesn't help you very much. D&R make/sell them, specs may be on their site if they have one.

Good luck mate!
