Fuel Pump

I got HP 225 Fuel Pump installed about two years ago, last night truck stall while driving. :evil: No fuel presure while cranking. What should I check berofe removing pump?

is the pump on a hotwire kit??? is so check connections and or relay first.
also turn key on and beat the gas tank with a tire iron ect. if its really the pump , it has a flat spot and that should free it up to start. hope this helps

Id start with the simple stuff, fuses,relays and use a good test light to track back the wiring make sure there is not a break in the wiring anywhere.

Check all the wiring from front of the truck to the pump, grounds and connections. If you have good connections all the way through it would be safe to assume there is a problem with the pump or the wiring inside the tank.

ECM B Fuse may have been on the edge with the Walbro fuel pump.
I bump my fuse to a 15 Amp I haven't had any trouble since.

Try testing the fuel pump with the gray color test connector. Just apply 12 Volts to the connector and it will run the pump even without the key in the ignition.
Here a picture it's hard to find buried under the wire loom.

If you apply 12 volts to the fuel pump test connector (single connector that will be grey in color as mentioned by Wade, by the power distribution block on the firewall) and the pump runs, the fuel pump relay could be the problem. The AC relay and the fuel pump relay are both the same so, you can swap them to check.

Don't rule out a bad ground on the fuel sending unit either. Many folks had to "upgrade" to higher amperage 15 amp fuses after installing the high pressure Walbro pumps but, not me. I took the time to redo my ground wire when I put mine in four years ago. No problems since... HTH's
