I bought this from Phil Long years ago and never used it. He ran his 10 sec stock block run with this turbo.
Phil said it has 5000 miles on it and may need a rebuild.
It’s a little rust on the exhaust housing but not much movement as far as end play.
3" Inlet and Exhaust a/r is the standard .85 that all syty housings have from PTE.
Rated for 600 HP.

$450 plus shipping they are about $900 new.

I was going to run it as is. There is very little end play.
I just wanted everyone to know that it was used and where I got it.

Journal turbos will have some end play, even when new. If the blades do not hit the sides or cover when you are moving the shaft around it is probably fine.

Bump for a nice turbo.

The cost is about $185 to rebuild the PTE52 turbo. As John stated the journal turbos will have some end play.
Here is an email I received from PTE about the cost of a rebuild.

Standard rebuild for a small shaft Journal bearing turbo is $185.00. This includes a bearing kit for $125.00 and a flat fee for labor of $60.00. If other parts are needed the price will go up from there. Once the turbo gets here it is approx. a 10-14 day turn around. Please send in the turbo with your contact information. Once the repair department goes through the turbo they will call you with a more exact quote. From that point you can decide to repair the turbo or just have us send it back.

If you are shipping to us USPS please ship to:
