Greetings from Sweden, nice to be back home
I have a problem with my front diff, while driving from Dallas to Virginia Beach i develope a vibration over 70mph and an oil leak under my truck. I had no chance to check it out during my trip b/c of lack of time. I drove it to VB and checking fluids in eng/trans sense i thought it was leaking from that area.
Anyway after getting my truck to Sweden i lifted it up and found that my driver side front axle inner hub (or what ever it's called) had come out from the differential, oil leak were from front diff where the axle attache to spider gears, I know that the hub is hold in position to the spider gear with a C-clip, and now i'm wondering what could cause the hub to seperate from the spider gears? I don't have space or tools to take the diff off the truck right now, but wonder if i actually broke the splined hub or if the C-clip came off and let the hub seperate from the spider gears.
Anybody had this problem before or have any clue what could have happen, 3 days before i toke off cross country i went to a 1/8 mile track. When launching with 15psi boost i got a little wheelhop on the front tires, i'm thinking that could cause the axle to crack and later after driving 1100miles broke off, but i'm not sure.
Thanks for any help with this and i might be looking for a used hub if mine is broke.
