With all the people doing JS Coilovers and routine maintenance on the front drive CV shafts I wanted to share with you an alternative option for removing the OH JESUS NUT!!* on the CV Shafts.

Since I have had the driveline out of my truck for some time I just wanted to share with you guys an alternative method for removing the axle nut for the front CV Shafts. I know this has been asked before and ideally it would be advisable to do this with the wheels on the ground and the brakes being held by someone in the driver's seat. However, since this is NOT always available I wanted to show you an alternative method that can be used.

In this picture the jack is being used to support the end of the breaker bar so its pretty level with the ground (keeps it from slipping out if truck shifts a bit) Also the end of the breaker bar is on the wheel studs, if you are concerned about damaging the threads of the wheel studs then screw on a couple of lug nuts. I plan on changing out MOST of the front driveline anyhow so I wasnt concerned too much about this in the above picture.

* = "OH JESUS NUT" as its commonly referred to as because of the comments made during its removal and the large torque numbers.)

Hope this information is helpful to someone .

this is avery good alternative, but i would suggest using air! I know some people dont have money and or room for a compressor, but i dont know how i would get alot of the shit done without air
