oh you must be talking about the sy in lombard ill.....
i drove it.. er his kid drove it they wouldnt let me drive it :evil: what a waste of a trip!!
anyways the truck is mostly stock, but has a few major issues....
1. fog lights suck and are the wrong ones, there yellow cheapys
2. front bumper lookes like someone hooked on to it with a chain and a 4x4 truck (gap at bottom was like 3-4 inches
3. battery relocate in the bed was THE WORST COBBLE JOB IVE EVER SEEN!!!!
it was placed inthe middle of the bed, in a marine storage box, and never bolted down. so every time you stand on it, or stop the battery slides like 6-8 inches front or back. and... the holes for the battery cables look like they used a coal miners pick to punch them in the floor of the bed on a 18 pack night!! :rotf: :rotf: the holes were punched in the floor, not drilled!!
4. while were on the subject of battery, the cables were run on the outside of the frame, and hang down 4 inches below the frame in two spots.
5. right window switch is tore all to f@%K!! even the factory connector has been destroyed,, he says its just the switch, but...... just assume its got a bad window motor, and adjust the price accordingly.
6. lumbar support bladder pumps are missing on i believe both seats :x
7. no tonnau cover
8. rims have seen there better days.
9. dont believe for a second that this truck has been maintained flawlessly, from day one, it was drove and drove everyday, and drove hard by the son on more than one occasion.
10. if your looking for a perfect sy for like 10k this isnt the sy for you, ...on the other hand if your looking for a fixer upper, like i was when i was looking, this truck would be worth like $5k-6500, no more.
i offered him like 7k and he said more like 10 k i came up to 8500, and he went to 9200, and looking back i shouldnt have offered him more than $6500, but i was new to sy/ty and saw red... errr black that is and wanted it no matter what the cost.
i want to say though that frank was one of the nicest people to deal with that ive ever come across, and that goes for the rest of his family too!! including his son.(they were expecting when i was there in like 1or 2 months, i hope there baby is healthy!!
) his son has a nice black ty in the garage that needs a tranny also.
