I bought a Derale? Tranny pan and used the gasket it came with and had no problem. I was worried because everyone was complaining about leaking. No problem yet. I suggest using this pan from my experience.

I originally was going to buy a derale pan with the cooling tubes, but then I heard they weren't as rigid as the aluminum pans like TCI. I'm kinda kicking myself now because I don't think many people have had leaking problems with the derale pan. :roll:

take the mr gasket crap, and throw it out also, get a factory gm gasket from a dealer, and never have another problem.

I checked a local dealer and he told me it was something like $75. Anyone have the pn for a factory GM gasket?

I assume this is a cast-aluminum pan. Perhaps it is slightly warped or bowed, causing the leak? Place it on a glass-top coffee table. (Maybe a neighbor has one, if you don't). Try to insert a piece of paper, or business card in the suspected leak area. It might also be 'twisted'. Try rocking it on the table.

I suggested the glass table, because I couldn't think of anything else that would provide a large enough flat surface.

Good thinking. It is cast aluminum. I will deinitely check to see if it's warped or bowed. I drained the fluid last night, and think maybe some of the bolts came a little loose. When I put it back on I will be using a little loctite and torque to spec in a criss cross pattern that is for sure.. Haven't seen much of a leak from the gasket area since I cleaned it off, but I haven't driven it either so that's really no good. It does however leak from the drain plug mostly so I've got it narrowed down.

you know you generally have to retorque the pan bolts after it heat cycles a couple times
