FlexLite Fan??

Did some searching and didn't come up with a good concensus.

In my old hot-rodding days I used to run Flexlite fans on all my 340 Mopars - loved em - less rotational mass, eliminated the clutch, did just fine up through 6800RPM, engine seemed more responsive, no cooling problems. For those of you not familiar, the blades are designed to flatten out (not completely) at higher RPMs.

While changing my thermo today I was turning that big old heavy fan, by hand, wondering what a FlexLite would do on the Sy.

Yes, someday I will go electric, but that will be when I get a new custom radiator and go with external coolers on the engine oil and tranny.

Just for now I'm wondering if anyone is running a flexlite and what their thoughts are on the outcome.

I run them on the sy and I like them. seem just like you said more responsive. plus you can turn them on with out the truck running to cool it down between runs.

Got one on a local Ty... not sure it made much difference.

We don't run much higher than 5k in stock form, which is where the benefits of the fan start to come in.

It's a good replacement if you've got a dead fan clutch. Otherwise, I'm not sure it's worth the $.

I know what your talking about. That is a great question. Much lighter ,less resistance turning and still draws alot of air through the radiator. Bump for good question.

I used to run a Black Magic on the Syclone. It wasn't able to keep up with some our hot summer days.
