Exhaust question

I have a 92 ty with stock exhaust from the headers and into the cat, with a borla cat-back system. I want to do something different to make it a little louder, but not annoyingly loud. I have thought of replacing the cat with straight pipe, but i know that will make it pretty loud. My other idea is to take a hammer and beat the porcelain in the cat. Any suggestions or what has sounded the best for everyone else? Thanks
Chris

if you start to mess around with removing the cat you will also run into boost control issues.

I like the sounds of a atr muffler myself. without a cat.

what do you have to do to keep boost control while taking the cat out?

external wastegate.

you may try removing the muffler, and put a straight pipe in place of it. Your wastegate should still be able to control the boost at that point.
