How heavy are they? looking for answers from the hoovers, and guys hitting 9s/10s. Sys and Tys.

got a debate goin with a friend about how chubby our girls are when they hit ETs like that.

Surprisingly, not very light. Phil Long's Syclone is probably around 3400-3500 lbs, Ed Hess' Syclone is probably around 3800 lbs, John Waller's Typhoon is probably around 3600 lbs, and John Gerber's Typhoon is probably around 4000 lbs. That's 2 Sys/2 Tys on the opposite end of the typical weight spectrum, all running mid to high 10's.

I would suspect the Hoovers to be around 3100-3200 lbs.......not sure about Robert, McCoy, Jeff Dennis, etc.....

Personally, my truck weighed 3180 on my 7.3 eighth mile run (read - used to be that light), but my truck makes substantially less power than any of the above mentioned......as has always been evident by my lower mph on any run.

jesus i had no idea you could get them that light. i figgured all the roll cages would weigh em down really badly.

probably depends on how steetable you want your 9-10 second truck and what you can live without.

yeah the njumber above would be a close guess. only time i weighed it was 4180 withme in it.
since then took out, exhaust system
street gas tank
ac compressor
ac condenser
ac airbox
heavy metal tonneau cover

havent weighed it since removing the above.

now if my truck only weighed 31xx i cant imagine what it would run.

Do you happen to know the weight of your wheels w/ tires on them? I always wondered what those things weigh.

Well since I was the original purchaser of those wheels and tires and I weighted them back then, as best as I can remember the fronts weighted 50 lbs for a wheel with the tire mounted and balanced and it was 51 lbs for a rear, which is very close to what a stock wheel and tire weighs.

That's pretty much right on what an OEM Firestone and Wheel wieghs.

That's pretty impressive, given the size of those wheels/tires... I weighed
a set of 17s and Michelins once that were something in the 72-75 lb range.

Somebody needs to make lightweight drag radials with kevlar belting...

270-170 = 100

100lbs = 1/10th

well jer all i can say is the difference between you and me appears to be 1/10th. lol

I'll remove the battery entirely to help offset that. Who needs electricity in a car, right?
