Thought I'd throw this out ther to gauge if there's any interest for you Typhoon Owners w/ Syclone motors:lol:. Yesterday we modified an intake off of a syclone we’re restoring here at the shop. For our first attempt at making a Typhoon Intake, it came out REALLY nice, but it’s not to our standards of being able to sell it a full price yet. This is not a plate bolted to the top, the Syclone & 4.3 Turbo were machined out & tig welded up, then we remachined the top & re-engraved Typhoon & 4.3 Turbo back into the face.(thanks MikeC for the 4.3 file:tup
The only issue with this one is the throttle body plate pulled down .050” in the center(see pic facing TB plate). I checked it with a stock gasket & throttle body, it bolted up with out any issue. All the surfaces have been re-machined to flat & square, actually far better than stock. If you want this, I need a good core back in return first. Also, if your running the larger 58MM throttle body, we’ll machine that out before it goes out. We’re thinking of attempting this again, but this first one was A LOT more work than first thought and since we don't have a Typhoon yet, how many times can my wife say NO:rant:, thought we'd post this on the board & see if there was any interest,. We're offering this ONE for $100 + Core. We painted this one with Dupli-Color Ceramic Caliper Paint, not some cheap paint, so the finish should hold up pretty good. If we do these in the future, attempting game plan B to keep the top of the TB pulling down, we're estimating around $250 + Core. Future one's will be bead blasted & left bare for whatever finish you choose. I've already got one board member interested in it, pending pic approval:tup:.
