Hmmm. I have a couple of push in caps that came in one of the many boxes that I got with my truck. They both fit very loose in the valve cover. Thats why I figured I needed a tube also. I wonder if it is possible that they have shrunk a little. The engine was taken apart in 2002 and has sat in boxes ever since.
