While I can say that I think it is a real accomplishment that you were able to break the 8-second barrier before anyone else on here (documented), dont think that there isn't anyone else faster than you. Ed does have a business to run. So does Tom Ferrick. So does Mike Lee. There are a few people (lurking) that just sit and watch. They make their money on street races. They dont want all that publicity. It is a different dynamic. Some people get it, some dont.

As for having some competition at the Nats, you will. So Ed can't make it....he never has. Does that take away from his accomplishments? How about Tom's Ty? Because it's RWD, does that make any difference? If he cranks out a mid-8 second pass, are we going to hear all kinds of excuses? Look, congratulations on a great achievement - well deserved. Now you sent the truck to the US to try and race a few of the fastest in the US at Nats. It is too bad about the Hoovers...I've thought about selling mine plenty of times. But you know that it wouldn't be that difficult for you to bring the race to them (Ed and Tom). Your truck does have to travel back to the port, and it isn't that far away to ATCO. Who knows....by the time Nats is over, you may not have the title of FASTEST SYTY IN THE WORLD....there are other sleepers around....I've mentioned that before.

Let's all have a good time - without attitudes. Morgan is right...keep it civil...we are all (mostly) civilized...unless we're drunk with a fistful of $$ at the tittie bar!

I commend Robert on his 8 Second run. I personally think it's incredible all of the innovations and modifications that he created to get his truck to run what it has run. Just think if it wasn't for him there may not be a 4L80 conversion in our trucks.

I am still up in the air trying to get to the Nats. Heck i booked a flight hoping that my wife doesn't have to travel on Sunday. It's hard having a family and 2 jobs getting the time off work and family. Some of you that don't have kids can't understand how your life becomes all about your kids and getting them to school, piano, ballet, swimming, ccd & gymnastics. Man there just isn't much time left in the week to sleep or ever take a break. Your going to laugh but the only time i get to sit down and watch TV is on Thursday nights (if i'm not a the chassis shop) with my 5 year old so we can watch Dirty Jobs together. I'm doing my best to get to the Nats this year - just wish i had more free time.

I hate hearing that excuse.

If you have a car/truck that can run low 9's or 8's and street race with it. People are going to KNOW about it. And for as many die hard syty people on this board to miss a truck or two that can beat the Hoovers (old) truck, or Roberts.. The cat would have been let out of the bag already I think.

Not everyone is part of this online community. Hell there could be one right down the street from any of us. Ya never know.

Yes but how many other people, or sites for that matter have as much info on them as this one? At some point those people that go from 10's in their syty to low 9's or 8's are going to have to come onto this site and ask a question because they've broken something and want another option. (Course, these lurkers that we're talking about could be rich as hell and just not care and throw money away.) And whats the number one question the rest of us ask before giving out adivce? What are your mods.

If someones gonna post stating a motor build like Hoovers or Roberts and need help, its gonna get noticed. Even more so if they are using a stock style ecm.

Well Im in the same possition as U i feel,
working swingshift at my regular work, have some extras as car repairman, carpenter, electritian, gardenman and help friends when I can in different ways,

Then Rais a 10 year old son (single father) luckily his mother comes and help. we have the popular ½ time each, he goes to school were I live so he is more at my place..

My legaly vacations (4 weeks in a row here in sweden) has frozen in for 8 years for now. so this summer I said to the boss "if I dont be able to to this I QUIT" it was hard to get the vacation but I mannaged to do so, then just work extra further more to get the $ for the tripp all in all.. And I feel exited as H**l just being in this adventure..

I rather sit down when I´m 70 and remember doing this than regret I did´nt.. going to sleep the whole first year I´m retired from all this and work.. about 20-15 years left :D

The 2 trucks I know of that are very quick dont use a stock ECM and have been building motors for so long they dont need help. Theres alot of long tiome owners that dont come here anymore because of things like this. As far as roberts truck yes its fast but im curious to see if the 8sec time can be run on an american track in a verified 1/4 mile. Yes Ive seen the videos but how do we know how long the strip is. Last I heard it was metric system there

Trust me i am having fun i've done most everything that i have every wanted to do. I just have to pic which fun i can get away for. This year it looks like it's going to be Sema for big fun. The best part is i am going to be staying some of my best friends that i don't get to see but once every couple years.

Everything hinges on my wife's travel schedule. It's not something that she can easily change as she is the VP of her firm and when they need her she has to go.

Well, I will tell ya what, I believe Robert, Hoover, Badnewz and Mike Lee are the inovators and the ones giving us ideas to go fast. You *rarely* see too many posts from these parties asking technical advice, cause quite frankly we wouldn't be able to provide them much help because of the complexity of the build and tune. They either do it themselves or find someone that specializes in what they need help in, and has been through it before. The top ten trucks are way beyond the stock setup and unless you have the truck in front of you or are help building/tuning it, its really hard to diagnoise over the internet.

again Anders....dont misunderstand what I (am apparently others) am saying here......you definitely have a nice, fast truck. I think that you will have a good time here in the US, but dont be too surprised if you lose the FASTEST title!

Re: Ed Hess where are U??

1320 feet, Sept 9th 3pm we will all begin to know if that is true or not.

So much excitement has brought out lots of emotions. I can't wait as this is going to be one of the best years yet.

In the end I hope everybody that shows up sets new records. Part of this trip for Robert is to end this debate about US and Swedish tracks. I personally think the US track will be faster for him and am doing what I can to help prove that.

If he goes fast enough to be the fastest at the nats, well my battery just died on my crystal ball. The last thing it did say before the batteries died is everybody that attends will have a good time.

That might be true. But I don´t really care about that. The main purpose of this trip is to come over and meet all Sy/Ty guys at the NATS. The next thing, I took the 8 first, and nobody can take that title away from me:) Hope to meet you there too :) We´re counting days now.

Best regards Robert (Anders is not the owner of the Syclone, I am.)

I'll put 20 bux on it. :)

I am looking forward to meeting new faces, and having a blast with the many friends I've made throughout the years of owning a Syclone.
