I'm putting the shopping list together for a fuel injector upgrade. Probably going to go with something in the 75lb/hr range. I currently have a single Walbro 255 Lr/Hr pump in the the Typhoon driving Lucas 42lb/hr injectors and am concerned it isn't enough pump for larger injectors. I've had some fuel pump issues in the past and think it would be best to just fix it once and for all. With that in mind I've been researching E85 compatible pumps (running code59 with E85) and came across this gem:
http://walbrofuelpumps.com/walbro-f90000267-fuel-pump-e85
It is rated at 430 Lt/Hr @ 40psi which should be plenty for my needs. I'm not positive on the math but 6 75lb/hr injectors at max would equate to about 277 Lt/Hr. I doubt my engine/turbo combo would ever need that much but plan for the worse case right?
6 X 75 = 450 lb/hr 1lt/hr = 1.63 lb/hr so 450/1.63 = 277 lt/hr
the pump above should support 430 * 1.63 = 700 lbs/hr 700/6 = ~116lb/hr per injector
Does that all look legit?
Has anyone installed this pump in a Typhoon before? I was considering a double-pump setup but a single pump is less complex and ALOT cheaper. Any idea what would be needed to mount this pump in the tank? Can the stock fuel line support that much volume?
I'm planning on ordering one of the Racetronix hot wire and body ground harnesses as well.
Thanks,
Brian
