I take it this is the one from London Brad? Very possible to do, you need to be good with wiring, and have all the electrical manuals. I looked into that engine a while ago, talked to the guy too. What worried me was that it has sat so long, and is on the higher side price wise, but does have most of the parts. Will be a tire roaster in a 2wd S-10.

Re: dropping syclone engine in a s10

Tough call. Can they prove the fact that it only has 3k miles? The seal has been broken and the panel has been removed on the ECM in the picture. Stock chip installed still? If it needs a rebuild, $2500 is no deal at all.
If you want a Syclone, they can be had for a decent price if you don't mind waiting. Keep an eye on the board, they turn up and they are easy to ship to Canada now.

ya it is...what do you think it should go for?

Generally you see them go for around the $1500 range, and those have been fresh pulls, and normally more miles though. But like mentioned, how do you prove the mileage, and why was a 3000 mile engine pulled from a truck? For some reason I don't trust low mileage any more:lol:. And if it does need a rebuild or even a freshening up, you are looking at at least $1000-2000 to pull it, check it out and put all new gaskets, which aren't easy to find. If you want a Syclone, just be patient and you will find one. If you're willing to put some time and money into an S-10, it would be a cool project.

Whoa newbie...I don't know what this means, but we don't appreciate racial/religious stereotypes on this forum. SyTyers are a diverse group, so watch the slurs.

Douchebag is acceptable....because none of use are douches.

So then buy one already done from the states for 10k. Your beating a dead horse. There's not alot of them in Canada to begin with.

Syclone Rob

Its all ABOOT the SYTY eh
Re: dropping syclone engine in a s10

Yeah, I saw that engine on kijiji. I emailed him asking if he still had it and gave reasonable offer. His response was exactly this

Yes, NO

I didn't lowball him (well i guess to him it may be a lowball offer compared to his asking price) just that how do you prove the mileage and everything and just take his word for it... Not interested. unless his actually price came right down.

I got a similar response Rob, well I didn't offer him anything, but I was going to go look at it. After talking back and forth a few times I didn't get a good feeling from the guy and just never messaged him back. He won't budge from that price.

Re: dropping syclone engine in a s10

I would go small block supercharged ...JMO..Anyway, I have owned my SY for 12 yrs. now and do not drive it except to keep it fresh.. 80k miles on odometer and only 800...that's right 800 miles on a 44PTE turbo 3" downpipe high flow cat....with 800 miles in fresh original motor balanced and ported, .030 TRW's. And on top of that 700r4 tranny good for 1000hp and new ATI lock up 2800 stall converter all with only 800 miles. ATR cam with 50lb. inj. just 800 miles. Al other mods like Keene Belle intercoller,ATR adj. fuel regulator. boost controller in console.high torque mini starter, dual Walbro in tank fuel pumps. brand new vacumn lines, yep 800 miles on them too... body and cladding excellent except crack in windshield, and rust bubbles only around the windshield...I bought it that way and still looks the same..I have put 8k miles on her in 12 years...Sooooooooooooooo since I am in bad health and 65yrs. of age I don't need it anymore. U could have it at a great price and sell that motor or use it hopefully not ....for a spare.....PM me if u like....GREG O. good luck in your adventure.......
