I know they didnt make a Typhoon. Did they ever make our body style in 1/24 or 1/20th scale? I know they made a 95 Blazer.:(

I have been told Lindberg made a mid-80s style S-Blazer, but it has long been discontinued.

Best bet would be to check model shows or find a model forum.

Re: Did they ever make an S15 Blazer/Jimmy model?

I researched this topic a lot. I do not believe any of the big producers ever made a 1st gen S-blazer model. All American Models (a one-man company.. actually a moonlight job for the guy) did make a 1st gen Blazer resin bodykit that included a frame, interior panel and body. I have one of these. He has since gone out of business, apparently leaving behind several folks who fronted money on various things and got ripped off. I have talked to other resin scale model places, but they pretty much all say they have way more projects lined up than they will ever get to, and this one doesn't tickle their interest enough to push it to the front of the line. I tried to line up a group purchase on the old email list to try and stimulate a resin house with guaranteed $$. Still no dice.

Back to the AAM resin body, awhile back I researched how to make a latex mold and reproduce things like this. I even bought a batch of mold-making and resin-casting materials and supplies, and built a mold box. I was working on modifying the AAM Blazer body for molding (the window openings, hood opening, etc all have to be sealed shut) when life threw me one of those curve balls, and my free time went to zero. So now I have the body, partially prepped for molding, and a batch of expired chemicals. I know I'm not the only one who has tilted at this particular windmill. Hopefully someday a model kit ot die cast will happen, but I think it gets more unlikely as each year the whole 1st gen S-Blazer line (not to mention the Typhoon) fades from most folk's memory.

At our local auto parts store, they have a ton of model's in there. I called them up one day asking just by chance if they had a Sy sitting around. One of the guys said he hadnt seen one in a while, but if I wanted to they would call the model company they worked with to see if they could try and get more.

I never called again, because he said it might be like $50 or so for them to break out the old dies and whatnot.. I was like.. errrrr... $50..

I've got both of those. I also got one I messed up. So I was looking for a Blazer/Jimmy to convert the parts over to.

Yeah I hear about the messin up part. The decals on mine are so old that they shriveled up when it dried. When I finish the 1/20 model, Im going to post a pic of it on here. Its going to have headlights working and all kinds of cool stuff. Im trying to finish the little one first to put in my curio with the others.
