Re: Date Thread

I didn't vote as I can make any date/time listed above. A vote for all is equally as helpful as a vote for none right? Same "delta" on all marks right?

Location is also a non-issue. I've made 12+hr drives to events where I wasn't even an owner. If it's over an 8-10hr drive, then I'll just fly unless one of the local guys is taking their truck, then I'll hitch a ride like always.

All you owners talking about not wanting to drive too far......heh......thats funny!

Also, while I'm here......Kudos to whomever organizes it. That's a damn lot of work, and it doesn't go unnoticed!

Re: Date Thread

We appreciate everyone taking the time to comment about locations, but please save them for this thread, where they belong. We are trying to iron out some details on both date and location right now, hopefully we will have some answers soon.

I voted late September and hopefully Chicago area since it looks like I'll be in town around that time. Then I can crash with Pearl91chevy, right Jesse?

Re: Date Thread

apparently nobody can read, THIS IS A DATE THREAD! **** your locations, go post in the location thread!

When is the last time CA had 20 trucks in the same place for an event? CA would suck balls, the CA guys wouldn't show up, forget the rest of the country.

Have it on the east coast and **** the rest of the country?

I'll make it whenever it is.

Uhhhh, nobody is ****ing anyone. From 1998 - 2007 (with exception to Chicago 2002), Nats was nearly smack dab in the middle of the country. But even when it was centrally located, a majority of the trucks in attendance were east of Kansas City.

In 2009, it was moved to Bowling Green, KY, trucks in attendance were 65+ and tons of owners without trucks there.

In 2011, it went out WEST to Denver, CO, where there were 39 trucks in attendance (not sure of the other stats since I wasn't there).

In 2013 back in BG, I believe it was 52+ trucks (just off of memory), and there were some who just showed up for a day and left as they couldn't stay the whole weekend.

At the end of the day, Eastern US has a bigger turnout, can't make up the statistics.

My personal feeling is that Nats is less important to those who live in states where the car scene is active all year round, SoCal, Florida, Arizona, Texas, etc. There are always a small amount of trucks that come from those states, but I think because they can go to shows whenever they want locally, there is less push for them to drive 10, 14, 24 hours to go to a National event for 3-4 days.

The regional events have come to play a bigger roll in recent years too, Homecoming, Shindig, the old NE Extravaganza (which might get replaced by Carlisle),.... but then again all these are east of the Mississippi too, go figure.
