Okay eveyone,
I finally go the truck out fo rthe first time in about three months and eveything was awsome until she got heated up. I'm cruzin and the idle starts acting up and then I keep loosing power. I pulled over and cooled her down by stopping in to an autoparts store and she runs fine on the way home. I was trying to find a loose vacuum hose, but I don't find one. I could understand if she started up like that and stayed like that but she don't. I replaced the fuel filter thinking it was crappy gas, but that didn't fix it. She is completly stock with no mods.
What do you think?

Re: Crap

I have almost the same problem man. Took the sy out to the saturday meet at 79 and 35 and it got so hot one the way home. I hit it at a few lights but not too much other than that. It got to what I can guess as around 200-250 on the way back. Do you have your IC pump hotwired? What T-stat?

Re: Crap

lol. What did you use to find out what it was set at? A guage? I'm afraid to do anything with mine because I don't know how much pressure it is set at.

Don W.

Stab it and steer it
Re: Crap

Hmmm, 70 psi fp? Wouldn't that have flooded it? Doubt that's your overheat. I'd check things like actual water in the rad (not the header tank). Collapsed lower rad hose. Stuck t-stat. NFG fan clutch.:2cents:
