Sounds like a project to me

I gave the guy a call today. He is familiar with syty.net, but I didn't ask if he was a member. He was friendly and seemed pretty knowledgeable. He said he has a friend that lives up near VT who has multiple SYs and TYs. Apparently one is pushing 1100hp. He mentioned something about Cottons Performance in Agawam also.

He told me quite a lot about the vehicle. Hopefully I can remember all he said about the truck and not skew any of the details. If I remember correctly, he purchased it from someone in CT last year and it has or had a recent CT registration so he could complete the sale or register it in MA. He said it runs perfect, with no blow by, and the only thing is it may need fresh gas. He said ball joints, brakes, etc are good. Has A/C removed, but still has the parts. His plan was to turn it into a drag vehicle, but decided against it since it is rare. He intended to get new stock rims, but had trouble locating a good set so that's why he put on ZR1s and he doesn't like the way it tracks with the wide tires. The body issues seem like nothing major, but obviously would need to be seen in person:
-surface rust under the cladding on the door
-a couple bubbles where someone installed rear aftermarket speaker with screws that were too long and ended up putting tiny dents on the panels from the inside out.
- he said the fenders are rust free
- roll pan frame is rusty, but cover is good

The pictures are from a few days ago. He said he's had 50 people call him about it, but half of them want to trade him a pile of junk. I told him I'd call him if I get time to come look at it. It's at his friend's shop.

I wish I had the money, it sounds like a decent truck for the price.

I bought this from ApplegrayTy92 in October. I have wanted to own a Typhoon since college so it has been a rewarding experience so far. It is my current weekend/fun car. I do have it listed for sale but this is a terrible time to sell a car. I imagine I will end up storing it this winter with occasional drives until the spring then re-evaluate.
