Cops Pulled me over again

This is the second time I have been pulled over in about six months. This truck seems to draw cops attention unfortunately. They keep stopping me for to dark of window tint.I only drive my Ty a little bit on the weekends. I quess that I will have to get some lighter tint installed. I have been lucky so far and have only been given warnings be the police.

X2, got another exhaust ticket yesturday. Sad part is that I have an electric dump but had forgotten to close after messing with an EVO and I guess he was at the 711 when he saw me drive by and got me about 3 miles away.

i assume he is ticketing you for the front windows correct

here in ny the rears can be dark as you want them, sucks you cant make the fronts the same as the stock rears, looks dumb with lighter front windows

The rules are different in every state. In Tennesee none of the windows can be less than 35 percent. My windows are very dark. The first policeman that stopped me had a gauge that tells how dark the tint is, mine tested 4 percent.

wow were i live thats a $100 fine. and the cop would be on the look out to get me again as soon as possible. they will tell you to keep it and pay the fine if you want to look cool. ny sucks, but i love it.

Hey Phil,it's the front windows they are worried about.TN law is they can't be darker than 35%.The back windows can be anything

I've got 35% on my fronts,5% on the back three and have never been pulled over (due to tint) .

Damn- I was waiting to hear a Jimmy style story involving beer and the swat team.

...For some reason, my Ty is the opposite of a cop magnet, I guess they all think it's a just a Jimmy so it can't possibly be making all that noise...

The V-Dub next to me always gets pulled over... (75% of the town has one)

As for the window tint... 2.5% (changed it to 5%) on the back side windows... and the rear one has a light 35% so I can back up but the window still looks dark from the outside...The fronts are stock... Factory tint sounds like a good idea....Factory tinted glass = LMC truck

cops don't bother with me in the sy .. mustang and bike is a different story though.....

in jersey you can't have any tint at all in the front windows or windshield which pisses me off because I see tons of audi tt and supra fags all tinted out without being hassled day in and day out

Got pulled over about 3 weeks ago with my Impala for tinted windows. Seems the cop had a hard on for tinted windows. He even got to try out his new light meter and made it a point to tell me he just got it and a lot of his buddies were getting them too! (who cares). I passed him in a neighborhood while he was giving someone else a ticket. He saw me, ran (literally!) back to his car and chased me like I just robbed a bank. I thought he had something important to get to! When I realized he wanted me, I pulled over, rolled the windows all down and that was the end of it. Ticket for $76.36 He wanted to give me another one for not having my insurance card, but I did find it. True, we aren't supposed to have window tint here in DE, but I have had it on all of my cars since I was 16 which was 26 years ago and have NEVER been pulled over just for the tint. On another note, my wife recently ran a RED LIGHT and got a nice ticket in the mail from one of the new RED LIGHT CAMERAS. That ticket was only $75. So, I am paying .36 more for having tinted windows just cruising through my local neighborhood on my way to get some gas. My wife runs a red light and could have killed someone and her ticket is less $$. The law SUCKS!

That sounds about right! Just like in Jersey they wanna make the fine for "Street Racing" more than the DWI Charges. Even make the jail time longer.

Yea Window Tint, I chose not to put any on my side windows because i drive in too many towns that like "court apperance required" for tint tickets. This way you have to take off a day to come and see the judge. Gee TN i would think street lights are limited and with 4% Tint i wouldn't be about to see anywhere i was going.

One town by me will actually approach the car with "guns drawn" because they don't know who is behind the glass or if you got a gun or something.

Now if i was a cop, i would pull them over on a very cold day, loud speaker them to step out of the car and walk backwards to my car and then go get their information. (they would be freezing but atleast i was safe) :lol:

Window tint laws suck! We have them in IN but they arent heavily enforced. I have real dark window tint all around my sy, windshield too (top 6-8inchs). It saves your interior from the sun, keeps stalkers from knowing whos inside, looks cool, then there is that puff puff pass thing-safer with tint :lol: :lol: . I ve personally never been ask about it, even when i was pulled over for other things. I always turn on the interior lights no matter what time of say to help it look less dark inside. I have had buddies that the cops keyed or partially removed their tent at the time of the ticket so they would have to get it removed or fixed. BOOOO, nothing against our police force in general, but come on, isnt there a lot more important things to do than hassle people for window tint?

On a sid e note, my tint makes it hard to backup at night, i cant see shit, have to roll down the windows and stick my head out to see, hopefully the nightvision backup camera will help with that when i get it hooked up. :tup:

I could see this being a problem with a manual cutout but damn man. As soon as i saw the cop anywhere near me, i would have shut that dump and said he must have been getting me confused with someone else. Hell it takes a jack to be able to get under my truck to even see the dump, let alone prove i had it open.

That is my motto as well. My father used preach this to me when I was a teenager, it took me a little while to figure it out.

Had dark tint on my tahoe. Was on there when I bought it over 5 yrs ago. Never been pulled over for anything in it, driven it all over the US.

Now my typhoon, when I lived in WA back in late 1999 I got pulled over for driving with my fog lights on and NOT my headlights, I guess is some stupid law they have. Cop said he had to check my tint also, which was legal (just barely) then proceeded to ask me if I had a sticker on door jam from whoever installed it saying it was legal, etc. I told him to write down the 2 laws about foglights and tint so I could research them. Never got a ticket though.

Did get 3 speeding tickets in ty though (all in 3 months), never got asked about tint those times.

Thats exactly what happened. I saw him coming form about 1/2 mile away and I shut it iimmediately. He said he was not confused at all. The other cop that pulled up to "assist", told me to fire it up and he thought it was VERY loud, dump was closed. I was like, ok, Im not going to argue. If you argue with a cop, atleast around here, youre a moron, because you wont win. When you go to court, there is nothing you can say or do. Its what it is here. I have a stock t6ype mufffler with a flange I am going to bolt up on court day and see if the judge will have someone come listen so I can try and press hte "it wasnt me story" but I doubt it will work. Last March I had my truck impounded for this and the judge gave me a $500 fine, or was it 4? and suspended $400 if I dont get another one within a year. I screwed that up. So I am going to drag it out as long as I can to try and surpass hte date he gavce me that fine in hopes that I wont have to pay the other 3/400 dollars.
